You deserve to get punched in the face for defending Sanchez and thinking he deserves more chances. We limped into the playoffs at 9-7 for 2 years, and only made it that far because of a #1 defense carrying the team. He is a bust with little to no ability plain and simple, shit accuracy, shit arm, shit decision making, shit morale. For every time he "succeeded" in high pressure situations he has sucked in no pressure situations against bottom of the barrel teams. Pull the plug already I've been saying this since he was drafted.

Lol. Throwing an interception on a play where there was an easy touchdown is a good thing now? That was one of the worst throws I've seen in awhile, had the guy wide open by like 10 yards and he basically punted the ball in the air. Pretty much any other QB, and that's a TD.

Sanchez is an OK QB, if everything around him is perfect. Give him decent WRs, good line, great RBs, and he'll do ok for you, but so will many other guys that don't have starting gigs right now. He was picked to be a guy that carried the team, not some loser who needs everyone else to be all stars so he can collect his superstar QB money and be average.

He just mentally isn't there when things get rough, and that's not something that you can scout before-hand and know, especially because he played at such an advantage in college in terms of talent around him. When things are even, he doesn't have the capability to rise above.

I equate it, somewhat loosely, to playing Madden. On the first level, you make the defenders look like idiots, running similar plays, and run up the score. You just have a talent advantage (in this case, the CPU is purposely slow), so you look great. This is Sanchez in college. Then you move to All-Pro. The CPU isn't as slow, but it's not quite equal. You can still find a few plays that you know have a good chance of working, but you aren't exactly running up the score every game, there are interceptions and fumbles, but you find a way to win eventually. This is Sanchez when the team around him was good. Then you go to All Madden, when the CPU is all but equal to you, with a faster reaction time. Now you have to make those secondary reads, check downs, and possibly just throw the ball away and punt. You have to find the weakness in each formation, change plays according to that formation, and then think on the run while DL are in your face. This is what Sanchez lacks, in real life. Once, things are even, he panics. He sticks to going to his first read, lob throws in general directions of WRs, and gets hit and fumbles. It's one of those cases, where you look amazing until everything is against you, and you need to create an advantage by yourself.

So who does this? Well, the top tier guys like Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers have impeccable accuracy and can dissect defenses, while not relying on one particular guy as the only target. And not a lot of these guys are superstar first round picks, a lot of them aren't that highly thought of, that flourish with the QBs, because the defense can't focus on one WR.

Then there are guys that have specific talents that cause problems for defenses. Newton, RGIII Kapernick, and Wilson all cause defenses to dedicate a spy for the Qb, and they can make plays when the called play breaks down. This extends drives, causes defenses to not just put everyone back in coverage as much as possible, and opens up options.

Then there are the guys that have a rocket arm, like Flacco, or Rothlesberger that cause safeties to back off and create space between the LBs and CBs. Some have a mix of these, to get like say Matt Ryan or Tony Romo.

Sanchez doesn't have ANY of this. He has no accuracy. He has no rocket arm. He has no elusiveness. He's mediocre in every such way, which is why he can't elevate an offense. There is nothing about him that defenses have to worry about.

In retrospect he was having issues from at least the second Patriots game onwards. That was the first game after the Ravens fiasco where they put the ball firmly in Sanchez hands with the expectation they were going to win or lose based on his play.

From that game on his numbers were 159 completions in 284 attempts or 56% for 1,699 yards and a 5.98 YPA with 13 TD's and 11 Int's.

In other words they began to lean on him again and the numbers deflated as they did that.

The majority of the people in that thread now think Sanchez sucks after one season with an inept OC and a lack of weapons lol amazing. People are quick to jump off that bandwagon

Those last 6 games or so that year Mark got killed.

I don't know jackshit about the West Coast Offense...but I'm hoping it's got designed plays that let Sanchez roll out of the pocket.

Ok no supporter of Sanchez deserves a punch in the face. But a lobotomy should be scheduled for those people.

You know you have been roasted when your start nit picking someone for using good instead of great when quoting you.

It must be nice to not have a sound argument, get roasted trying to argue it and still think you are more knowledgeable than everyone else. That further shows how little you know. Lol!!!

For the 1,000th time, I'm not defending the interception BUT we were really better of becasue of it. :rofl2:

Don't pay any attention to the fact that it took 3 points and a shot at 7 points off the board. We never could have stopped NE if they hadn't started on their own 2. Don't pay attention to the fact that we stopped them 4 out of 5 drives including 3 drives when they started at their own 20, and 30 yardline. Also, don't pay any attention to the fact that NE pinned us on our own 5 yardline right after we pinned them on their own 2. If we had better FP we never would have kicked a FG right before the half. You always want to take points off the board in that situation and hope that the opponent pins you on your own 5 to start your next drive.

We were MUCH better off with that pick. Writing it in caps like that proves it!

Yeah and he didn't have a lot of help last year but it's 4 years now. That's too long. If he was going to turn into a good QB we'd have seen signs of it even as everything else was falling apart around him. Instead he fell apart also.

Entirely correct. His numbers didn't deflate immediately, but his performance did.

I'm glad you were the one to catch that.

I agree, time to turn the page. Damn shame, we can only hope the Jets learned their lesson on how to develop QBs. That is the main issue and we have yet to see this issue get resolved.

I've come away impressed with your posts in this thread, sadly people rarely reflect on them. Sound, accurate posts - keep it up.

sadly, the nfl is absolutely nothing like madden, or the differences from rookie to all-madden

you can be impressed all you like, that doesnt make his post any more valid.

    Thanks.

Not really talking about the NFL there, talking about the progression of difficulty that Sanchez faced from college to NFL today. A metaphor for how he can't handle the highest level, but will look good to great on the lesser levels.

When he played on a good team, with great defense, great RB, good O-line, and a passable WR crop. Hence, the second tier, he'll do ok when he has talent around him that can mask his shortcomings.

And I think it's been argued ad-nauseum in this thread, that the reason we got to those games had more to do with the team around him than Sanchez carrying us anywhere. His stats for both of those years were mediocre, and then he regressed when the team couldn't keep the same talent level around him because of the cap. This would qualify as him having to step up a level, and improve his play. And we've seen the results there.

there have been many great teams that have not amounted to jack in the post season. mark may not have it the world on fire, but he was an important piece of a successful team.

Hey Hobbes you going to ignore this post where I eviscerate your argument? Probably a good choice.

Homer much? I think you do. All you did was address the people in that thread. You didn't bother to address the facts in that thread or the ensuing posts.

    Some things never change.

By the way... you are still E's mini-me. And that's the saddest fucking thing of all. A mimic of a moron.
