Well..........I think you're reaching a bit on most of those. Not that any of them are so much better that they would score more BUT at the very least most of them wouldn't have turned the ball over in the redzone so many times, which would have resulted in more FGs at a minimum.
Stafford was tied for a while with Sanchez with RZ turnovers and that's with Calvin Johnson. Freeman had back to back 4 pick games this year, something Sanchez hasn't even managed to do somehow. He did this with Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson. Remember, some of these QBs I listed didn't get 9 wins with their own team, that's why I included them because our offensive talent <<<<< most offensive talent in the league. I'm not arguing they wouldn't be an improvement over Sanchez, most if not all of them would be, but 9 wins, yeah that takes a lot more than just being better than Sanchez.
Agreed. It's apples and oranges, but logically if you took any other starting QB in the league and stuck them into the exact same situation as he has this year (opportunities, scheduling advantage) you'd have anywhere from an even chance to a very good chance to have pulled a few victories out of losses against the bad teams.
Yeah, I just think those QBs drop off greatly when you start throwing to Cumberland, Greene, Gates, Schillens, etc. Without Holmes and Keller, we really didn't have a "go to" guy which hurt us greatly. Everyone McElroy or Sanchez was throwing to has not been playing for longer than a 1.5 years for us. But I agree most QBs would have helped the team, I just think people would be surprised how much worse a Stafford or Freeman or Flacco would look here minus their weapoins. None of this excuses Sanchez from sucking and throwing into quadruple coverage and having poor ball security, but it's not like Sanchez was holding back an all world offense either. If we had a Fitz or someone that caliber, this would be extremely more frustrating.
There have been lots of this excuses for Sanchez... There is one thing thats a fact...he throughs the nicest pick 6 in the NFL. Name one QB thats better at it!
It's true that there hasn't been any good weapons on offense this year, but that's no excuse for Sanchez's poor play. He has regressed a LOT. If Sanchez really wants to be a Jet, he has to earn his role in 2013.
Both these guys have some serious mental issues. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/19671/sanchez-i-stunk "I just had a good talk with Rex [Ryan], and I know we're destined for great stuff here. I know we can be successful here. That's what I'm focused on. I'm excited to come back next year and do my best."
"There are some situations where I need to play better. There are some great plays and some great throws and then there were some not so good things," Sanchez said. "Those are the things I need to focus on this offseason and try and fix those and put us in a better position to take care of the football." "some situations"???....."put us in a better position to take care of the football."??? Wake up Mark. Take a page out of the Peyton Manning playbook and take charge of your team. You are the quarterback....and as much as you'd like to not believe it, that position carries certain responsibilities above and beyond just making a few throws and handing the ball off. You've failed at every aspect of a job that you get paid handsomely to do. It ain't about "some situations" or "us"...it's all you hombre. Grow a pair.
Sanchez is so full of himself. He thinks he's such hot shit. God, I really, really, really hope we find some way to get rid of him. His attitude seriously pisses me off.
i feel like sanchez can get better. but his upside is just not that high. he won't ever be a star qb, i think. he just doesn't have the tools or the smarts. he might end up being serviceable, but is that worth the gamble? i don't think so. time to start developing someone else.
i would actually rather have sanchez than romo... sanchez leaves absolutely NO DOUBT that he is the worst qb in ALL OF FOOTBALL. (well to all but a few who well are wrong) tony romo on the other hand will usually play pretty well for long stretches making you think he might actually be a good qb, THEN at the worst possible time he will fuck himself in his own ass. hopefully the cheeseman has made it so blatantly evident that he doesnt see the field next year. romo on the other hand is just about guaranteed to be back next year. and that makes sense, the guy plays well for large portions of the season. the shame is that the cowboys will waste probably 6 or 7 years realizing how much romo sucks. the jets should have known full well after last year and if they were smart before last year. so the jets will, unless they are the dumbest football franchise ever created, waste 4 years with a sucky qb. now if the jets go ahead and waste another year well they are dumb.
There's not a shot in hell that Sanchez is the starter Day 1 next year. The new GM will have enough brains to know that. He may just rot on the bench next year if we're saddled with him. However he'll most likely be gone via trade this offseason IMO. Everyone would be better served to focus on the Jets future QB and move on from Sanchez.
hey if i am coming in i say you know what fuck it. sanchez gone, holmes gone in addition to all the rest of the vets who have been talked about getting cut or not resigned. take your beatings next year and start to build. it doesnt have to take 5 years to rebuild anymore. this can be a competitive team again in 2 to 3 years.
mark sanchez post season press meeting... so mark how do you feel about being so bad that you got your gm fired and head coach on the hot seat? hehe i saw this on facebook on a completely unrelated thread but it made me think of mark. yes yes i understand its something aimed at marks hispanic heritage... its no different than us irish drunks. its only for good fun
