If he can't figure out how to get an optimal performance, or at least close to optimal, out of his playmakers, he has to go. The sooner, the better. This man wouldn't know what an adjustment was if it flew out of the sky and hit him in the face.

No it's not, I saw it w/ hackett, heimerdinger, Schottenheimer, I see it on other boards. I saw the fans in Gillette Stadoum bashing the Pats offense in the div rd, I saw the Steelers fans at heinz Field int he title game bash bruce Arians. The OC is always the scapegoat when things don't go well. I guarantee you no matter who we bring in he will be bashed. Not at first as fans will be so happy to have a new OC(most fans) but eventually it will be the OCs fault.

How do you get your playmaklers the ball when a)we can't open holes to run and b) we can't protect the passer?

I disagree. We have Tom Moore as a consultant, let him put in a few extra hours every week. I would bet he wouldn't regress unless you think Moore did a bad job with Peyton Manning.

Isn't that the OC's job? He makes a pretty decent amount of money trying to figure that out.
This guy constantly tries to stick a circular peg into a square hole.

I agree with your last post, the OC is always the first to feel the heat. All the blame when things suck, none of the credit when the offense is flowing. I think in this situation, though, moving Schotty out would be the right move.

    The excuses were as follows:

-he had a different starter each year until Sanchez arrived
    -poor execution by the offense

Well, he's had Sanchez under his wing for 2 years and iare now in their 3rd season together.

    There are no more excuses.

It's his job but he doesn't have much of a chance w/ this OL.

    one more time.

You protect the passer, by passing from the shotgun and forcing the other team to get smaller up front by putting 3/4 WR's on the field.

then you get rid of the ball in under 4.

It's not rocket science. Unless you're Schotty.

Did we run a shotgun at all until the 4th quarter? Did we even run more than 2 or 3 snaps the whole game out of shotgun.
One fumble--which I blame Sanchez for not catching, the snap was there--and our OC curls into a ball and starts crying. Seriously, I'm sick of this pussy consistently getting scared. If you think Sanchez doesn't feed off his OC's lack of faith in his players, I don't know.

when we were going to back to back title games?

Yeah b/c we didn't have any problems in the shotgun last night. We can come up w/ a million different ideas, if you can't block you aren't going to have success. You may be able to mask it for a play here or a play there but against a D like that? no chance.

yes, even when we went to the AFCCGs....Schotty still sucked horribly.

Our lack of oline play only magnified his ineptitude to adjust.

    to summarize:
Schottenheimer - shit playcalling, incapable of making adjustments, completely predictable
o-line - bad news bears. Bad play, bad communication, bad awareness
Sanchez - has only average field vision, poor ball protection, Had absolutely no time to throw.

Seems like an awful lot of that would be the responsibility of the offensive coordinator. Ah...but he can't make adjustments when his first plan doesn't appear to be working.

This might turn out to be a long season for all the wrong reasons.

If they don't start protecting nacho soon he's going to be joining David Carr. Sad fuckin state of affairs. Hope they make some kind of changes.

Do we really have to mention that set of downs when we had 1st-and-goal on the Pitt 2? I don't think so.

Doesn't anybody find it weird that week in and week out, the first 15 or so plays that Shittenheimer scripts and works all week on to attack the defense are consistently the worst plays of every game? We never score early in the game. We always end up losing early. We always end up turning the ball over somehow. That is absolutely an indictment on Shotty and his ability, or lack thereof, to prepare to attack a defense and exploit their weaknesses.

Defenses clearly study what Shotty likes to do, and they jump the routes, they exploit his weaknesses, and we get fucked. Sanchez is absolutely right. Just like LT was right, and just like Holmes was right. When does it end?

One grenade should be tossed into the offensive huddle.
