The problem is when you start out the way we did at 3-0 beating the teams we did people assume you are going to make the playoffs. Well reality has set in for him and the franchise. I always had us pegged for a 0-5 start but after the hot start the regression is hurting the team win games.

Honestly I don't buy the benching him kills his confidence thing. These guys are pros and if the guy sucks because he got benched in week 7 then he was always going to suck. The bottom line is he is costing the Jets games..now 2 in the last 3 weeks. The team needs to decide what the goal of the remainder of the season is. If they think they ahve a legit shot at making the playoffs with somebody else playing QB then that guy needs to be playing. Honestly I don't know what to think of KC but I know he wouldn't have thrown 5 pics today.

You can't compare this to the Colts and Manning, they were coming off multiple awful seasons and were 1-15 the year before. There we no expectations but now there are extremely high expectations for the Jets ...at least there were.

I dont know i think experiance is the best thing and I dont think we can win with clemens. Your right that against the saints and the bills we lost because of sanchez but with the dolphins if the d played halfway good we would have won because of him. Still think we should keep sanchez in.

He shouldn't be benched, but he has to step his game up big time. I know he's a rookie and shits gonna happen but five interceptions to the Bills including a crucial one in overtime is just not acceptable. This is the NFL and most of the defensive backs are just as capable of catching a ball as the receivers. He has to start making better decisions and put the ball where only his receivers can get it. Bottom line. Rookie or not it's disheartining watching him literally throw the game away. That being said I support Sanchez and believe he's capable but he has to be more consistent and stop trying to force balls into coverage.

If you play him then you have to deal with the pains. But Schitty has to start putting together game planes that help protect him rather then leave him exposed

I'm not defending Sanchez whatsoever with this post, and I have also believe in Schotty. However, the Jets did nothing on first down to make the Bills D nervous. The Jets ran on 1st down non stop. N I'm not giving Sanchez an excuse, but where was the play action, where was the Seminole? Furthermore, why don't they use Brad Smith at QB in the Seminole? He can actually throw the ball...

    ^ brad smith was hurt.

i don't like the BS about Smith throwing the ball. You have a franchise QB, he throws it. He's not chad henne.

this team hasn't made the playoffs since 06 and its a win now team?

every year is "win now" according to the NFL head coaches... But "win now" is the biggest crock of shit i've ever heard. You win when you win. Does anyone think the 4-12 teams every year are "win now?"

I hate the phrase "win now."

And Clemens give us the better chance?? Holy fuck. The dude who feels the rush as good a Jamarcus Russell and throws passes 3 feet in front of the receiver? Fuck Kellen Clemens.

rex Ryan feel that Sanchez is the guy, and he's not going anywhere. You feel that Sanchez needs to sit, because he isn't Christ behind center.

leon needs to be used more IMO. he's a bigger playmaker, and ever since teams began kicking the kickoff over his head its psychologically affects the team.

HUH? Are u messing with me cause i admitted i was drunk? Haha...What I meant was that Brad Smith at QB in the Seminole is a legitimate threat to run and pass...Leon is not much of a threat to pass, although his running ability is much better...but since the Jets got Brad Smith they have not used his ability to throw the ball.

First off, this team was 8-3 last year and collapsed due to shitty qb play and shitty coaching. I do think this team could have gone deep into the playoffs last year. Do you think it was a fluke that our Defense played lights out for four straight weeks? If you have a top five defense (which we did first four games) and an offense that can be average (which we did) you have the potential to go deep into the playoffs. Maybe "win now" was the wrong term to use. Even with Jenkins hurt, this Defense is still very good. My point is that your qb is a liability when he is constantly turning the ball over (see NO, BUFF) Also, when was the last time Clemens has played in a regular season game? You have no idea if he is the better choice right now.

I feel like Sanchez should sit because he isn't Christ behind center? I feel like he should sit because he looked absolutely clueless out there today and lost two games because of his shitty decisions. I think Rex knows better than all of us and will make the best decision for this organization.

    This is a great post...

I like ND alot but I think your post is fairly accurate. We have no idea what KC looks like behind center. He had 2 really good games if I remember. All he would have needed to do was to manage the game better than Sanchez. It's been 2 years since he's seen any meaningful action so who knows. Your right though, Rex is going to do what is best for the team and if it's stick with Mark he's the guy but it's tough to support one guy when he has single handidly cost you two wins rookie or not. Mouton killed the Titans against us and he is a rookie... I hardly doubt Titans fans were very forgiving either. Rookies make mistakes but if they don't improve on those it gets bad quick. This was Mark's worst game and I thought the Saints games would be the ugliest we'd see from him. The sad thing is Nawlins has a very good D, Buffalo is garbage.

What did Sanchez exactly do to be warranted a first round pick?

He had one very good season running a very talented offense

In terms of measureables he's terrible

    Below average size

    Average at best arm stregnth

    Average mobility

This guy had career backup written all over him..... I think Ainge will be the future

Agreed on all points. Except for Ainge -- I'll believe that when I see it.

10 years from now some "Moneyball" football book will come out, and they will talk about pretty boy QB's going too high in the draft a la Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, Vince Young etc... because GM's and owners were enamored by their "star potential" rather than their "QB potential"...

Take a look at some of the games best QB's.... Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Jay Cutler, etc... None of these guys played on football powerhouses....

Hell Drew Brees accumulated the best stats in Big 10 history, and took lowly Purdue to the rose bowl... He was drafted in the 2nd round... Mark Sanchez starts 1 season at football factory USC and gets top 5 money..

Jay Cutler was one of the best QB's in SEC history if you take a look at his stats....

In the end why should Sanchez care??? I'm 21 and i'm in an uphill battle with Crohns disease that's put a halt on my plans to join the marines... He's 22, a millionaire, dates GQ models, is a NYC superstar......

Honestly if I am Rex Ryan or Mike Tannebaum I simply tell Mark to go home run himself a nice hot bath, sit in the tub and soak there until he realizes that he's one of the ten people in NYC that can have sex with 5000 dollar hookers for free... That'll get his confidence back...
