Spot on. Give me first downs all day long. As far as the bomb, take another look at the Sanchez>Holmes pass at the end of the Broncos game. It was deep enough with one-on-one and it drew us the flag that iced the game. Had he not thrown it, we might have lost the game. It didn't lead the receiver, but he took a shot and it got the job done.

Not sure what the OP is driving at here. If you think the lack of big plays is going to mean teams are going to stack the box? If teams want to play the Jets differently and give up on the deep throw then let them. They will get burned with guys like Edwards and Holmes going deep. Will Sanchez hit them everytime? No. But a few deep throws will warn the D and force them to back up. They just can't take the risk of "well, Sanchez is struggling with the deep throw".

Yeah, but he should have led Edwards a little more for a greater effect. (LOL)

As far as "we are not getting enough 50+ yard plays" well if that is the biggest complaint and the team is still top five in scoring. I will take it. Sanchez to Holmes is a work in progress for one, I am sure the timing will come.

I'm not driving at anything. I'm not saying hitting those plays will open up anything more than what has already been opened up. I'm just saying that there are a bunch of throws that have been left out there that we could have taken advantage of.

It's funny how if you create any thread on this forum criticizing any aspect of the Jets team, it's taken as an attack on the team as a whole. I love this team and the way they are playing. I'm simply pointing out an area that I think Sanchez can and hopefully will improve on. If that makes me a darksider than I will forever be one.

Who said that? Sounds like you just don't like the opposing viewpoints presented.

I wasn't aiming that at you specifically. Just at all the people saying "oh boy it's gonna be a long bye week" or "another example of people just looking for something to complain about." I'm tired of posters being attacked when they create a thread about something other than praising how amazing our team is.

Even when he has more chemistry with Holmes I don't think we'll see a bunch of 50+ yard passes. A lot of Holmes' big plays are YAC, which is exactly what you need in this offense.

Sorry, I don't see too many "our team is amazing" threads to be fair.

I see one about Lowery not running out of bounds, another about the refs. Another about Holmes not doing well on the reverse and his fumble problems.

We all know there are issues to clean up, not everyone is acting like the Jets are playing perfect.

And you must have missed all the Revis hate.

Oh and of course the obligatory "Gholston is a bust" thread bump.

    Not style points. 6 points

When you swing for the fences and hit a couple of 3 run bombs in a game you have an opportunity to rest the bullpen and maybe even a position player or two.

Blowouts change the entire complexion of a game, giving much needed reps to the second team, perhaps keeping your backup QB sharp with some
    4th Qtr snaps etc.

You are only gonna see about 4 or 5 of these per game.....all I think the OP is saying is it would be nice to see him be a bit more accurate with them that's all.

Again we're 3rd in the league in PPG. If you're complaining that we're not scoring enough points then you're probably barking up the wrong tree. He wants style points. He's not happy with the big plays we've pointed out because the ball didn't travel far enough in the air. It's a silly complaint IMO.

I'd say its because everytime hes actually thrown a bomb this season to a receiver that has a step or in some cases 3 steps on a defender, Sanchez underthrows it.

If Sanchez can get this down this offense will be scary as hell because hes left a few big plays on the field.

Did you answer my question before? How many 50+ yard plays do we have this season other than the one where Braylon's defender just fell down. Whether the ball traveled far in the air or not, how many?

What does our PPG have to do with ways our team could be better?
I'm not following the logic there.
