Ah the guy who posted that the SOJs is dead & buried but of course it was not & we are the SOJs. Yes we have a new cover but the pages of the book are exactly the same that they have been since the day after we won SB 3 way back in Jan 1969
It seems the only SOJ is the NY media which fuels that BS and JETS fans that let their disappointment cloud their judgement. WE are not the same team that C. Winner, Ken Shipp, Lou Holtz, Walt Michaels, Joe Walton, Kotite, etc. or even Parcells...
This gloom and doom thing likely started back in the 80's with O'Brien and Walton. I recall numerous games (home and away) where the jets would have success early on in the game and look like a real juggernaut until.........a tiny disturbance crept into their momentum. Penalty, missed 3rd down, bad punt - usually on offense - and would open the door for the opponent to get their legs and change the game. Oh the pain. Oh boy.......u have many many SOJ games to go so get ready to buy a few replacement TV's, computers, or your video device of choice. Hopefully, 1 or 2 SB appearances will be mixed in.
I'm going to say this will be Bowles' best record. I see it going down hill from here. In 2-3 we'll hire another coach that nobody knows or cares about, who will win a few games then Peter out. Ask the 2010 San Diego Chargers. #1 ranked offense, #1 ranked defense - their special teams was far worse then ours. It seemed like every week, they would give up a ST TD in SOME capacity [blocked FG, returns, etc]. Leon Washington in 1 game returned 2 KOs for TDs.
And you base this prediction on? Because Rex deteriorated so will Bowles? Zero faith in Mac to provide talent after one season? I admit i am being cautious with my optimism but the storm cloud people allow to hang over this team is nuts. It's one year and they had a pretty good season, let's at least give them one more to see if it's legit and something to build on or billboard time.
46 years of losing makes many fans who have seen them thru years really, really gun shy. Every season is the same book new cover same results since SB3. U probably have not been around long enough to experience 46 years of nothingless
I hear you on that, hell i'm a leafs fan. But it is one year and was by most metrics a positive one (albeit a Super Bowl is the only truly positive year and yes they failed at that). All i'm saying is for now to stay neutral. We don't know if this was a fluke for Bowles and we don't know what other tricks Mac has up his sleeves. This could be the turning of the tide or this could be SOJ but i want to withhold judgement after a good not great year until we see how year two goes.
Bowles is already saying Fitz will be the QB even though he does not have the foggiest idea who we may obtain in 2016 so he must lack the ability to think ahead which will doom him in the NFL
That can change in a heartbeat, or a well placed right to the jaw as we learned. I'm sure he and Mac already have a plan of attack for free agency and draft prep is well under way. again the wheels could fall off or a dynasty could be beginning, i'm remaining neutral until this plays out more.
Are you folks on dope? There is no fucking way in the world Rex would've won 10 games this this year coaching the Jets! If someone promised you the Jets would win 10 games this year most of you guys would have creamed in your shorts. They had a disappointing end to the season, yes, but they weren't going to win a SB this year anyway. I don't know how you can't see that they have a good coach and are heading n the right direction?

Its 47 years since our last SB man!! How would you feel??? Be honest Biggest mistake was my premature assessment of Bowles. Man do I hope he does some transformation in 16 Get this: Talent can only take you so far. you need coaching and brains. MM is the GM not the Coach Ok ill give Mr Cookie Bowles another year with an EXPENSIVE boatload of good players...but get it done aiready. SMH there are people on TGG who game manage better...sheeesh....look at the first half of every game...terrible
