You made an insanely dumb comment "If the Cowboys offseason didn't prove that you can pay pay pay pay and still somehow fit it all under the cap, then I don't know what will."

Teams manage their caps differently. The Cowboys cap management has zero to do with the Jets cap situation or management.

You literally have no idea what our cap situation is going to be when it comes time to sign either of them. I was just pointing out that your point had zero relevance unless you know why the Cowboys can fit these guys under their cap and are willing to explain it. That would actually take a little work but you have a good point if you could explain it and relate it to the Jets situation instead of throwing out BS with zero relevance to the Jets.

The Seahawks literally took a SB team apart because of the cap. The Cardinals were dismantled in 2 years after a run to the NFC title game a few years ago.

The draft and FA are tied at the hip. The need to overpay for FA's who can kill your cap is directly related to a failure to draft well.

Yes and there is absolutely no reason to negotiate a new deal with him until he shows he can dominate, gets through 3 years healthy and it makes sense financially for both sides.

Robbie Anderson possesses truly state of the art vision and wisdom. I don't know how this can be disputed by anyone that's read his twitter.

I feel like you are overthinking this greatly. Who cares if the players you have to pay were drafted by the team? When it comes time to pay players, you don’t give them more because you drafted them. Contracts don’t care where someone was drafted. You can remove literally every name from every number and compare the Cowboys and Jets ability to pay and it would make sense.

If you really need to know how then look at contract structures.

The reason the Cowboys have so much cap space is they have drafted high quality players in late rounds who are cheap. The reason to sign your own players over other FA's is one it's cheaper and two you know who the guys really are in your system and locker room. They are in your system.

When you negotiate with your own player when you own their rights it's often way cheaper than going into the open market where 31 other teams are bidding on their services.

If you really don't care, if you could sign an equal QB to Sam or an equal safety to Adams who cares if we sign them or not? There is a premium value at a reduced price for developing and keeping your own talent. Continuity matters, reducing who your bidding against matters, having a draft system in place that identifies and brings in cheap quality players that fit into your program matters. Dallas since Jones son has taken over has done one of the best jobs in the league at drafting players that fit what they want to do on both sides of the ball. They know the guys they are committing money to inside and out. For the last several years they have completely turned the football operation around. The NFC is a powerhouse division right now and they are one of the powerhouse teams because their management has been operating at a very high level for several years. Like us they floundered for years. Unlike us they have been operating one of the best managed programs in the NFL for a few years now.

When you say they did it we can that's true we can but not just because of contract structures. We need to operate like a professional football team from the top down. We haven't done it since BB resigned.

That bar is so low they could use it for the world limbo championships.
