I have a bad feeling about Scott. Parcells will take him. We will lose this battle this time around. Reason being is Parcells will throw shit loads of cash as the Dolphins have alot of cap space to work with. We on the other hand dont have $40 millions in cap space. At the most, maybe $20 mil...maybe. that too after dumping a few others that would require filling up. I hope we get leonard. We need that safety. An above avg would do the job as Kerry can become an Ed Reed like safety.
I want Scott... but i wouldn't pay him more than 8 million per year. There is a pretty good class at LB in this year draft and also some good free agents (Crowder, Vilma maybe)... let's not throw away too much money just on one player! Plus let's not forget we owe some money to Mangold and Washington...
I don't think we are winning a title in 2 seasons. I think we need a QB first. We won't have the dominant defenses of Baltimore or NYG when they won their titles with lackluster offenses.
oh and probably we'll have to rework D'brik contract and Harris one as well... mmm.. doesn't seem to be that much money left after those contracts. I would much prefer to go after a solid CB in free agency and drafting Maualuga/Laurinaitis/Someone in the 1st round
I feel, PERSONALLY, that we won't chase a QB. I think, in my opinion, R Ryan wants somebody who can manage the game, not throw for 4000yds. That being the case, Brett and Kellen will do just fine. I wouldn't mind seeing Ainge thrown in the mix too. Let's see what they got...might find the next Brady...
Are you kidding me? Brick is making fortune and its only going to go up. $6 mil this year. $7.2 in 2010 and a whopping $12.2 in 2011. His rookie contract should not be touched at all. As for Harris, he had a great first yr. Last yr was good too. And I agree $800k is about the minimum, but its too early to touch his contract.
I dont think Leonhard is anything special at all but I dont have a problem with him being on this team. I hope the jets beat out the Dolphins for Bart Scott if that report is accurate. Scott is a great fit IMO.
I hope so too....but i think $$$ may be the "trump" card in regards to Bart Scott...check out my sig...the dude wants to get paid. Woody will have to open up his wallet if he wants to land him.
Here's what I see happening: Dallas signs Lewis Baltimore signs Scott (Suggs already tagged) Jets sign Leonhard and McAlister That would suck.
yes...that would suck. I'm hoping Badger is right and that "playing for Rex" will count for something in trying to convince these guys to play in NY.
Why would Scott chose the Dolphins over his former D coordinator's team? I am not worried at all...they must be just trying to jack up the price like others are saying.
Bringing Leonhard in will be good for solidifying the secondary and helping any transitions that comes with Ryan's system. Scott would be huge too, and i can see us doing the same thing for him as we did for Pace last year (blowing him out of the water with a huge off offer), i would have my questions about it too, if Tanny wasn't such a wizz with the cap. However, there could be some value at linebacker when were selecting at 17 (laurinaitis, maualuga, cushing) that could make sense as well
I would only hope Leonhard ha another season like he did last season. Coming in here and knowing how Ryan works is a plus I guess.
The only reference is from some rag of an internet site. Not Credible. Brandon Moore has not been cut.
If the Dolfags get Scott which I think is very possible..(even thought Rex is here we all know its about the $$$)...and I think Lewis will go to Dallas cause jerry Jones has a hard on for older veteran players...would anyone have any objections to going after Crowder? 113 tackles last season, not too shabby.
