Fuck that where always the softy bitches who get beat on im happy we finally have a coach that has some balls. Fuck Bellicheat!
Wasn't there some radio interview with deadbeat dad that he was on WEEI (or whatever is the chowdahead propaganda machine is) where the host asked him what he thought of a certain team from New york and he started to laugh and joke about not making any comments about the "guys in green and white"? In fact I think Fred Smerlas was doing the interview. This was during the *imperfect season.... The funny thing is, and you should realize it, is that chicken would try to rub it in the face of the Jets and it's fans regardless of whether Rex was some timid shy guy or the loudmouthed whackjob he is.
Well, wasn't the first time when they scored 38 the spygate game? The second game when they were supposed to run up 100 they actually scored 20, their lowest output of the year other then the superbowl.
If there had been an internet in 1969 I wonder if Namath would have gone through this much shit when he guaranteed the Jets would win the superbowl...I doubt it. Oh wait, and he made that guarantee because he knew how good Buddy Ryan's defense was likely to be that day...how things come full circle.
the 2nd game made me laugh. The spreads were around -20 Pats, everyone said the Pats were looking at scoring 70 that week and they did indeed scored the lowest of the regular season.
Since he would have been the 1st to make the guarantee, this media in those times would have gone apeshit over it. I guarantee he would have gone through tons of shit.
I guess I mean from some of the fans here, the media even back then went apeshit over it but not until the game was already played. http://videos.espn.com/m/video/21750209/super-bowl-iii-namath-s-guarantee.htm
Some of you really worry me. Some of you are so addicted to losing, you just want to stay out of that embarrassing spot light, as much as possible. As if you have yourself convienced that we WILL lose, no question, so why bring attention to the losers? Right? That is pathetic. Grow some balls, embrace this new attitude, and get excited about having a fiery coach at the helm. Things are going to be interesting, win or lose, finally something to talk about. I'm ready to see my team dominate offense's, and put fear in opposing coach's while they set up their weekly gameplan. I'm excited.
I believe you always respect your opponent and try to be humble as often as possible. W/ that said...this franchise has been playing scared since the fake spike. It's time we showed some kick back..especially to a bully franchise like New England. I'm willing to give Rex the benefit of the doubt.
What Ryan said is not the end of the world, it's just that I'd prefer to actually go out and kick their ass in that first game instead of talking about kicking their ass ahead of time. Then, after that game, if you want to come out and say, "And we're going to kick their ass up in Foxboro too," well then, I'm totally okay with that.
We aren't going to win or lose the game based on anything the coach says. Opposing teams are not going to take the game off because he doesn't say anything nor are they going to rise to a different level of talent because he does. This whole "keep your mouth shut" thing is nothing more than something made up by the media.
I totally agree... how about we win some games before we talk some smack. I mean, was it really necessary to point out that he's not intimidated by BB and the Pats? Why the hell would he be... I just hope he doesn't have to eat any of his words... this fan base and the NY media tend to be unforgiving as it is.
He wouldn't be who he is if he stays quiet and he probably wouldn't be the Jets coach if he didn't have the personality he does. I am sure that Johnson and Tannenbaum were looking for the anti-Mangini when they starting searching last year.
You get WEEI too? Good god I'm stuck listening to that nonsense constantly. The Big Show is good, but those two dumb asses in the morning make me want to shove a spork through my eye.
Dennis and Callahan are fucking god awful. Most of the time they aren't even talking sports- usually it's politics or them ranting about how racism is just made up by black people. I'm surprised any Jets fan could take the Big Show, when they're talking about the Pats their homerism knows no bounds. The good news there's a new sports talk station, sports hub 98.5. Hopefully the competition makes both shows better.
