Maybe give Watson a little more time? He's played 3 full seasons to Wilson's 9. Not arguing but it's too early to tell. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
The only way Seattle would trade him to us is if we gave them the #2 plus other compensation, and I would say no to that.
Just for fun... what do you think the price is? Jets and Seattle are no strangers at making big deals... Would they entertain 2nd overall + 23rd + 3rd Sea + 1st 2022??? Basically 2nd overall and their picks back from the Jamal trade. Would they do it? or We stand Pat and They trade Wilson to someone else and bottom out in a rebuild year and we get a top 10 pick next year!
Wilson is most likely not getting traded this year. There’s outlandish scenarios involving a three team trade. (Think Wilson, Dunlap, Meyers, and Wagner to the Vikings, Cousins and Metcalf, SEA 2021 2nd, Minn 2021 1st and 2022 1st to Houston, and Watson to SEA.) But there’s no way that the Jets play a role in which they get Wilson. As others have pointed out, no matter how much his family loves the City and this are, this team is just not ready. Coming here does not jive with his career goals of playing till 45 and putting more VLt cups on the wall. To some extent, yes, the culture may fit with what he wants, but the timing does not. C’est la vie. That said, if — and it’s a big one — if SEA fails to make a run this year (NFC Championship, at least), expect an amicable divorce. Wilson will take over for Brady in Tampa for the 2022-23 season.
I love Wilson, but don't want him on the Jets. It would be worth it, however, to see Adams' head explode.
Anyone looking to gain leverage will mention the Jets because the Jets are terrible and have a lot of money. Seems like a bad look for the player, though.
I was being a little sarcastic ie Watson has limitations comment in the other thread but if that is the case it is becoming quite the new excuse to leave your team, I don't really agree with it, truth be known, if the Texan's were stupid enough to offer it to Watson and then didn't oblige, then that just makes them dumb twice over. You are the QB, not the team owner, you would get no decision making if I was in charge, now I may ask, 'what do you think of ****?' but I would never promise a player that they have a say in who would be the HC or OC etc.
