-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >> "JaMarcus has been great," Raiders coach Lane Kiffin told reporters at the owners' meetings. "He's been there for over three weeks already this offseason. He's in a really good place right now in his mind. Early in the morning, he has film sessions before he lifts and before he goes out onto the field with the players. He's working extremely hard. He's by far in the best shape that we've had him." << YOu will see jamarcus Russell In October , abusing Revis and jets secondary all day long.
Wow a coach saying something positive about one of his players to the media. Thats something I've never seen before..... Russell abusing Revis... hmmm, ummm what receiver is creating separation for Jamarcus to successfully complete a pass. Don't say Javon "I'm hurt and i bitch and moan" Walker. I can put Drew Coleman on him- Who is Revis getting abused by?
Hahaha, after Kiffin was publicly shamed by Al Davis for trying to choose him own coaching staff, he is nothing more than a glorified Propaganda Minister trying to save his job. His words mean almost as little as yours, jeaux.
your last sentence is 100% correct, although that's not saying much given how when Terry Bradway ran the jets you'd think he was on the Miami/New England/Buffalo payroll.
You know what Hurt the Jets overall? Thinking that the talent we still had on the field at the non-skill positions (OL,DL) is one of the reasons why we went 4-12. Mistakes were learned. After all, we are not coached and GMed by guys with decades of experience and knowledge at their positions. We are led by guys in their mid-30s, a rare approach in the NFL.... You complain about 4 and 6th round picks being traded away for the same value like its the end of the world. You complain about 6-7th round picks not being worth the same value of a player equal to Marques Colston. You complain about acquiring two players who may be perennial Pro-Bowlers/All-Pros in their career. I watched the NFL 2007 draft again- the experts were saying that Revis was worth the 7th overall all the way down, thats worth the trade up; Harris, who Mayock was shocked was still available- praised the Jets for their ability to go get the value pick. Rich Eisen, Staten Island native and New York Jet fan, who attended Michigan U- added that Harris was the fastest linebacker he has seen since attending Michigan. Thats 20 years of players Eisen has seen, we have the fastest one. Thats worth the trade up. Out of all draft prospects for any team in the NFL, if more than half a regime brings in stays on the team and is a game changer, starts, or is a quality depth player- they did their job. Thats why the draft is the crapshoot it is.
I still have no idea how Br4dw4y5ux draws some of the conclusions he draws despite the many logical flaws and huge amount of value placed in hindsight analysis... After one year Bender and Stuckey are busts...or "doosies"...despite that both were considered good talents and one of them only didn't make the team only because he got injured.
C'mon man. W/ the exception of Schlegal You're reaching by complaining about the draft picks from the past 2 years. You're an intelligent guy, especially football wise. You know damn well that you cant judge draft picks after one year, unless they're completely out of football or have isues off the field. You should also know that every single NFL team...absolutely no exceptions, strikes out more often than not w/ late round picks. I'll also go as far as to defend a few of those picks. -Chansi Stuckey: Was having a fantastic training camp before suffering a majuor injury. He was a big time playmaker in college, and there's no doubt he will be on the roster this coming year barring another injury. He has the ability to be the long term answer at the slot reciever spot. - Jacob Bender: He's a developmental O-line prospect. Plain and simple. He's a guy w/ some great potential, who much like Stuckey was having a good training camp. You've been on record as to wanting MORE O-line prospects...so whas your beef w/ bender? A lousy preseason game at a position he had never played before??? Titus Adams: The guy was a 7th round pick, brought in as a developmental prospect. He made the PS, but the Giants stole him away and added him to their active roster. Whats your beef here?
Stuckey was also a day one prospect, but his chronic foot problem is why he took a cliff dive in the draft. I he plays 3 consecutive full seasons, we will see the value in his pick.
