I don't care if what you say is true or not, I don't want a coach who is a guaranteed SB winner, assuming such a thing exists. I just want to be able to watch the Jets play without throwing stuff at the tv and I can't do that with Manstupid, but I bet I could with Cowher.
If PSL sales continue as slow as they have been & this years edition does the SOJs tank role again I would say Woody would look for star power to stimulate the PSL sales
The biggest shame over the past 10 years is the fact that Parcells only stayed with us for 3 years. If Leon Hess hadn't passed away, Parcells would've had us in the hunt for real each and every year. God Bless Leon Hess, he finally got it right at the end. At any rate, I hope Mangini pulls off a Tom Coughlin, who was being talked about getting fired around week 15 last season... it would be incredible if Mangini got his shit together and led us to the promised land to end the season. That said, if Mangini fully blows it and provides the Jets with one of the worst epic failures in NFL history, there will be no crocodile tears here if he is canned for Cowher.
There is a shot that the winner of the Week 17 game will win the division and the loser won't make the playoffs. If the Jets lose to the Dolphins and it costs them both the division title and a wild card spot, considering the whole Pennington-Favre thing, it will be the most epic failure in Jets history and probably a top 5 epic failure in league history. It would be just that devastating.
I can see it now... Chad Pennington Completions: 13 Attempts: 17 Yards: 410 Touchdowns: 4 Interceptions: 0 Brett Favre Completions: 22 Attempts: 39 Yards: 140 Touchdowns: 1 Interceptions: 3 EDIT: It wouldn't be fair to put this and not include the most telling stat: Thomas Jones Carries: 9 Yards: 123 Touchdowns: 2
Good Point Champ. Woody went for the star power not only by signing off on the Farve deal, but spending $140mil too. He really needs some ROI and Mangini remains deadset on keeping the deck chairs on the titanic exactly the way it is. We might see a change up top. Look for the perverbial "kiss of death" statement of support as a sign..
I like Cowher, but how long do you think the fans will appreciate boring, hard-nosed football? I can hear the complaining now.
There is absolutely nothing boring about watching one team kick the shit out of another on a regular basis.
I wonder if Tanny leaked the rumor himself so that Mangini can grow a set of balls and start coaching better!
I didn't say John Fox would be gone. This year. This was his "what have you done for me lately?" year. Cowher lives there in NC... his home is there. Do the math... Regardless, Bill played for and was a coach for the Browns. Cleveland would love to stick it to Pittsburgh literally and figuratively.
Yeap, Mangini's best friend leaked info to the media to get him to work harder. That is a realistic scenario. Yuh huh.
Exactly. I love the way we beat the crap out of the Titans. It was nothing but hard nose rough old fashion whooping. If we did that each and every week and won I can't imagine how anyone would complain that it was boring. If they did they are clueless about football.
Nobody cares how you win as long as you do it. It's when you lose that people will complain. If you're going to lose anyway, might as well entertain us. Besides, the Steelers take and complete far more deep passes than we do. I know Tomlin is the coach now, but he shares similar philosophies. Except Tomlin doesn't seem to believe in pass blocking.
Insanity really can see the future On January 8th 2008 i posted this thread about bill cower and about how he would be our head coach and now this talk proves that I was on to something http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=28674&highlight=cowher
