    Yeah, it looks like for ethnic they are referring to non-European decent. Saleh qualified since he is Lebanese (non European) descendent. I am fine with it for the purposes of getting interviews if it helps break barriers (not sure it does now days, but if so, yes), assuming the final decisions are up to teams based on Merit. But I do not think it is good to mandate a minority offensive coach hire or give a 3d round pick to these who lose minority candidates to GM and HC positions.

    The reason is that it breaks meritocracy when it comes to hiring assistants due significant motivation to hire (not just interview) certain groups of people over others as it basically gives you free insurance (3d round pick) in case they leave. And yes, if two candidates are anywhere near close it does make sense to hire one where you get the insurance as it is a big factor that alters pure merit based approach IMO.

    You should probably have written that's what it "seems like" (to you). It doesn't really "look like" anything because we have nothing to "look" at. That is my entire point.
