I don't like this is move at all. I'd rather have Lowery then rolle. lowery is still on the way up while rolle is clearly on the down side

I agree. But the Jets D was getting to the QB throughout the first half of the season. They began to struggle after the New England game and Lowery was struggling before that. But I think a lot of that can be blamed on rookie learning curves and things like that.

The mode is win now. Rolle is a vet who hopefully wont make rookie mistakes if signed. Ryan likes aggressive hard hitting DBs. I guess Lowery showed him none of the above. Ryan could see him as a project in the works for the future.

I like it he will be our #4 corner/dime back unless Lowery shits the bed than you have a solid guy to take his place. Look at what Rex is doing if Rolle signs we will a Saftey, Corner, LB & D lineman who know the D & can help the other guys learn the system quicker.

Whats the problem...this is a depth move. If Lowery can't beat out Rolle in camp then Lowery shouldn't be playing nickle... right?

Ditto. He got himself torched a few times and knew it. Great anticipation can only go so far then you get exposed. He needs help deep.

Our secondary was so bad last year that we signed Ty Law half way through the season. Adding depth to the additions we already made can never be a bad thing.
