With all the baggage he's carrying, the difficulty of selling him to the fans, and a possible suspension still coming from the NFL league offices, his trade value is going to drop a lot. He's a 2x Super Bowl winner and a great QB so it's not going to be a bargain but no one is going to have to sell their draft for him. Casserly thought it could be done for a straight up player-for-first trade on NFLN. I think it'll be cheaper than that but nowhere near two firsts and a third like the Cutler trade.

trading for him could be a PR disaster for a lot of teams. I know they'd want to have him, but what team really wants to appear that winning at all costs, including endorsing someone who maybe raped a woman, is the image they want to project? I see him staying in Pitt where he is at least already loved by a percentage of fans who are willing to turn a blind eye, or being released.
I'm as cynical as the next person, but this really is almost too much to take as a fan to think this guy could have his scumbag off-duty cop bodyguards take some drunk girl into a bathroom so he could fuck her. And no, despite all the evidence that something happened that the girl didn't want to happen - the guy is fucking 6-6 - he's going to get a two game suspension while other guys get long stretches off for 'roids or pot. No sarcasm - it's a complete fucking outrage.

I'm still smelling a Michael Vick-type situation here. I don't see how Roethlisberger gets this to go away and I know the Steelers are too classy an organization to let him stick around in that circumstance. The entire case looks like a bunch of people trying to cover up for Roethlisberger from the get-go because he's a home-town hero, and forgetting in the process that he might also actually be a multiple rapist. The problem the Steelers have is that the market to trade him is going to be very slim. The Raiders, who are Steeler arch-enemies from way back, may literally be the only franchise who would take on the image problem. The QB is the face of the franchise. I think it's 50/50 Roethlisberger never plays another down in the NFL.
