Vlad is a project that doesn't seem like it will work. They better figure out fast if the kid can make it or not and if not cut him and get in other guys.

Turner was key due to his versatility and provided huge insurance in case a starter did go down. That insurance is gone now. There are enough guys waiting around for a call, I'm sure Tanny has made those calls today and we'll be hearing about a signing by weeks end.

This is certainly concerning as Turner is a solid back up on an excellent unit which is now looking to be paper thin. I wish the big guy all the best but if we can get him on IR to free up a roster spot until there is any likelihood of his coming back.

Just about to watch last night's game as it was too late for me. I've tried to avoid the threads psoted otherwise but I don't want to see this

i disagree because of WHICH backup lineman we lost. generally i would agree, but this is a guy who can play any spot on that line without a problem, including center. guys like that are not as readily available.

also, a shitty backup can get sanchez killed. plain and simple. do you want to see financial wizard mark brunell slinging the pill by week 6? because i sure as hell dont want to.

Did you just give him a compliment while criticizing his spelling?

You know what's easier to tell than the posters who have disappointing lives? The guys about 3 rungs down the Ladder Of Pathetic who are so crushingly ashamed of their lives that they fabricate stories of immense and imaginary wealth.

Personally, I have gotten a little tired of the constant rooster posts at the beginning of each thread attempting to shut down a possibly interesting debate during an active time of football before they have a chance to begin.

The people shit-canning each new thread idea need to go back into the TGG archives to remind themselves how many epic football debates are begun with what on the surface is a basically half-headed thread idea that sparked a debate from the more seasoned posters.

And I'm no angel, I have had my days where I just want to shit on some random guy's head because, well, those jalapenos I got on my burger yesterday have been soldering my pucker shut slowly all day, or my boss's secretary made one of my field techs late because she needed to blow him in the parking lot before he left to a comm shack 3 miles away to reboot a fucking server that 200 users are waiting to connect to.

Too many of us get away with shit on this board based mainly on reputation, and not based on continued quality forum contributions. When you start crushing threads and ideas more than you contribute to the real debates, people will eventually stop reading what you have to say.

    I don't get Cimini.

    RichCimini Rich Cimini
Just got back from Houston. Yes, backup C Rob Turner does have a broken leg, person familiar with situation confirms. #Jets

He's about four hours behind Manish confirming Turner's broken leg. Does he really think that anyone following him on Twitter doesn't have the other Jets beat writers as well? What a waste of fucking cyberspace, trying to convince us that he's got some exclusive insider giving him the juicy news. Twat.

You should tell him to go back to Houston.

I unfollowed his retarded ass. He just takes shots at the organization and gives back handed compliments. He's also late on everything.

I'm sorry it took me so long to see this. It's too bad you won't be able to respond.

Posters are always bitching about having their own opinion all the time on this site.

It's my opinion that Robert Turner's injury isn't that important IF no one else on our line gets seriously injured. It's perfectly okay with me that you and many others see this injury differently than I do.

I've seen a few reports that the Jets are interested in Jon Stinchcomb. Brunell is lobbying for this guy as well. If a solid veteran with starting experience is signed to fill that spot, it's not a big deal.

Not a single poster before me overrated about this...really?

Did I expect it to get worse? Of course I did. My bad for responding before the mass wave of overreaction.

...and think about it. If the Jets weren't on Hard Knocks the majority of this fan base would have no idea about Robert Turner. The ordinary fan could care less about a backup offensive lineman.

the best part is his perception is his reality.

if he "breaks" the news hes convinced he did.

i still want kenrick ellis to break his face

I think we'll bring in guys like O'hara and Seubert to have them checked out medically and then we wait until after Turner's surgery to make a move.

The problem is we don't need 1 interior OL (to eventually spell Turner) but also 1 exterior OL since I have no faith in Ducasse as a backup this year.
In essence while I think it's ok to wait until final cuts to bring in a backup C/G we have to get a backup T as soon as possible!

Of COURSE it's not a big deal if no one gets hurt ahead of him. That's hardly relevant in a league that's been incredibly injury riddled recently and is coming off a shortened offseason. It's a big deal because we want to be well prepared if there's an injury at center or either guard position.

Again, no, it's not a big deal if a solid backup is brought in. That doesn't mean that people are overreacting for saying "Fuck" when an injury to a key part of our line depth turns out to be a broken leg that could sideline him for half the season.

Really. Look at the posts above yours on the first page. No overreactions that merited the response you gave in that first line. It's fine. It's your thing and nobody says anything because A) it's usually more appropriate than not, B) you bring a wealth of knowledge to the board, and C) it's funny.

It wasn't worth 88toon getting pissy, and it sure wasn't worth MB defending. Either way, the end result of dickriding and banning was worth it.

I think you're underestimating the number of people who would be cognizant of our depth either way, but looking at the Vlad Ducasse issue, I think a lot of people care about a backup offensive lineman, and even more would have cared the minute we had two injuries along the offensive line, even for a preseason game.

I certainly care about losing our main o-line backup.

Turner is a backup offensive lineman. Some of you need to stop acting like this is some doomsday scenario that cannot possibly be effectively managed by an organization that has successfully managed a string of critical injuries to far more valuable players than rob turner, backup man out of new mexico. nice player, but hardly irreplaceable or critical to the team's success. injuries happen. backup linemen go down and you replace them. that is what you do. you don't lose your mind and break into night sweats b/c your backup man broke a leg.

if you find yourself feeling frantic, weepy and petrified because rob turner got hurt in a preseason game, then i suggest you should probably not be a jets fan. time to stop kevetching and crying, put away the tissues and put on your big boy pants. the season has not even begun. lol.

he needs to go on IR

you dont waste a roster spot for 12 weeks on a backup o-lineman

It's not a doomsday scenario but I had a lot confidence in turner. Any time someone got pulled and turner came in he would come up with plays. It's not as bad as losing a starting, granted, but he's still an important member of the team.

He didn't have a proper offseason due to the lockout. They are not going to give up on him because of this.
