I''ll bet he waits until cutdown day; good OL will become available then.

Agreed...if you're going to be pretentious and arrogant on here, you better be a genius--like me.

I like the idea of bringing in Shaun O'Hara if he's still available.

that's what i think will happen too.

Need to start looking at other teams' depth charts to see who has a surplus of oline talent.

Cannot go into the season without a solid o-line. I am sure a move will be made soon.

    Ouch, this definitely isn't good.

Is it worth throwing $ at O'Hara?

It WAS unnecessarily dismissive. He ranted about how people were overreacting when not one post above his was overreacting. It was dismissive of people over some reaction he expected to take place, and the idea that only 2% of fans would know the name of our most important backup on the OL seems extreme. I would have put it at least at 10%

How much cap space do we actually have to play with?

This is a tough one for the team.. To IR or not to IR, that is the question.

My guess is they won't, and hope he comes back as quickly as possible. If he only misses 5 games or so, it would be worth it to stash him away and not shut him down. Only because he is their best backup lineman, knows different roles like being a blocking tight end, he goes in motion, etc, he was a big blocker on special teams, and last year he even played some goalline defense. I know they can just sign a veteran linemen to help out for depth, but it would be hard to find a guy who can fill ALL those roles on short notice.

If the estimated return date was more like 12 weeks, they probably would just IR him.. it's a tough call.

    Bring back Woody

They need to bring back, Damien Woody from the retirement. He knows the system, and he can play multiple OL positions, including the Center. He may not start, but he will be an excellent backup. Give him $2 mil. for one year.

I doubt he's gonna come back. I think he's done, he has a new job and I think he's happy there.

i usually dont post but i dont know when this site turned to shit but it definitly did not used to be like this

theganggreen is now made up of high schoolish cliques and i feel bad for petrozza because this was once knowledgeable site but is now ruined..

the first post of every new thread is usually some deushe bag like mr e or another know it all complaining about somthing completely irrelevant with the rest of the "dickriding" crew waiting for someone to respond so they can all team up..then we have to sit there reading through childish insults and bullshit when we just want to read about our jets

the only way to get this site back on track would be to get rid of these shmucks but thats not going to happen so i recommend everybody join me in going to jetsnation or jetsinsider

sorry petrozza this was once a great site but best of luck in the future

He was getting at from a team perspective and this is an exact case of why the NFL needs to adapt MLB like DL rules.

He'll take a roster spot up and what if it takes longer then 10 weeks? What if he's just not the same after breaking his leg and needs more time?

If he was a starter it's a no-brainer but as our oline swingman/backup it is a valid question.

If the Docs can guarantee that he'll be ready to go by week 6 obviously no IR but if not it could be considered a gamble.

Having an IR8 or something like that would be great, 8 as in 8 weeks.
