Its pretty laughable, the cowboys defense was awful last year. Young corners take time to develop. If they think claireborne has a huge impact on their secondary, shouldn't they think Coples/Wilkerson will impact our pass rush? These guys are morons. Cowboys could have a better record since their offense is far better, but we will have the better defense. No questions asked
As much as I would like to see my hometown team do something this year I'm not holding my breath that the Cowboys are going to have a serious defense (or offense).
You have to go with Rex on this because he's had more experience (and SB ring) as a whole, and also has had more time to develop his current team. I have no doubt in my mind, that the Cowboys defense will become rugged in the next couple years, but the Jets are currently much better on defense, than the Cowboys are. Dallas was 14th last year in total D, we were 5th despite multiple weaknesses. If they think an early first round CB is going to come in and shut down WRs in his first season, they have another thing coming.
The defense wont be serious But you gotta give the offense credit. Romo is probably near the bottom of the top 10 QBs, then you got 2 AWESOME recievers (Bryant is gonna be a monster imo), a great backfield, a very good TE. Id say the Cowboys have a 99% chance of being a top 15 offense, and a very good chance at being a top 10 one
I think the Cowboys offense and Defense will both be around 10. Thats got the makings of a playoff team. Giants will have a hard time making the playoffs in that division this year. The Eagles should play much better and the Redskins have RG3.
It's not just Revis, it's Revis plus Rex's brain. In the 2011 opening game between Dallas and the Jets, Revis had been in man coverage against Dez Bryant nearly the entire game. Except one play. The play the sealed the game. Rex had Pool jump the LOS like he's blitzing BIG TIME, then at the snap fall back to provide deep coverage for Revis. A first. Good thing too. Romo saw what 'looked like' single coverage on Des Bryant (again) and threw a soft out rout. A rout that's difficult for a DB to defend in man coverage since he can't let the receiver get behind him, and the same rout the Dez won for 26 yards to start the game. But Revis, knowing he had Pool drop back behind him, jumped the rout early and won the chess match, and the game. Romo never saw it coming. Rex (and Revis) 1 Rob (and Ware) 0 Dez Bryant on Revis Island: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIT2esvwBu4
Laughable, I hope Rex reads it and laughs his ass off. Cowboys are god awful in tackling, and honestly, Cromartie is just as good as Brandon Carr - the difference is the Cowboys paid much more for him. Also, everyone is down on our draft picks, but once they see Coples and Davis fly over the football field - they'll jump right back on our shit. I fucking hate the media
i'm sorry, but who the hell finished with a better defense than Baltimore in 2000? lol oh yeah and fuck these haters in the media. it's amazing how they hate anything that has to do with the Jets.
On paper, The Eagles had this "great" defense last off season. How far did that get them? I say theres a better chance Rex's defense finishes in top 5 than Dallas lol
Who cares what these people in media say they don't play these games. In fact I love hearing all this about Jets keep them coming.
Everything about the Cowboys is always overrated. I'll go to war with our defense against their's any day of the week. Ware is a monster, but Claiborne alone isn't going to fix their secondary.
To be honest, I'd be pissed if the Jets DIDN'T finish in the top 5 defenses this year... it's what I've been accustomed to the last 3 seasons and I think we've improved @ DL and Safety.
Apparently the Titans did Interestingly enough even though the Ravens defense was beast they were ranked #22 in sacks Reminds me of our defense a bit, although they forced a fuckton of fumbles
There were no coaches nor players in that list. There's a reason the executives are executives and the smart executives don't get involved in football decisions b/c they know that they don't know football.
I believe Cowboys D was top 10 last year. Not sure on that, but I do know that Rpb Ryan greatly improved that D. It will be solid, a top 10 unit, but that's just another season for Rexy.
The Cowboys defense was ranked 14th last year and 16th in points allowed (better than the Jets 20th ranking). How can you say the Cowboys defense was "awful" last year?
Our defense is going to be nasty this year. Stop the run and we are #1 in the league. Please throw it, please throw anywhere near #24. Defense, Ground 'n Pound and sprinkle in a little Play Action pass. A game of field position that wears down opponents mind a soul. Let's lift the trophy again, It is time.
