Can't argue too much against your first point other than to say, regardless as to when/why the left began standing up for minorities, they are the ones who generally do. On the final point, you did see that I said that I agree that the word should not be used right? To clarify my point, think of a cripple person using self-deprecating humor on himself vs. an able bodied man saying the same things. Or even an ethnic slur. I find someone of that particular ethniticity saying it more acceptable that it coming from someone outside that ethniticity. You may not agree, and I respect that, but again I feel that there is a difference.
I can't disagree too much with your first point other than to say that, regardless of when or why the left started to stand up for the rights of minorities and the poor, generally speaking, they are the ones who do. Regarding the final point, you did see that I said that I agree that the word shouldn't be used, right? My point was that there is a difference between someone of a particular ethniticity calling someone else of that same ethniticity an ethnic slur than someone from outside that ethniticy. You may not agree, and I can respect that, but this is how I feel anyway.
Rex Kramer has something to say on this topic.
i get it as a joke but on some serious stuff i disagree with his position there. i would not like to be called a cracker and honky because that is basically saying i'm a racist and since '07 i have not intentionally been racist.
