I have such a man crush on Rex Ryan. Wow, the best thing that ever happened to this organization was our tank last season and the firing of Mangini.
yea i actually noticed this though a lot which ended up leaving me still with a not so great feeling about gholston, hell let someone else take the tackle if more convienant, fuck that, KILL THEM! im so pumped for this team. even if we went .500 i would still be happy about watching this KIND of football.
im glad you said this, you said what i could not. your kind of like that can of peas in wet hot american summer. i can go hump a fridge now.
Sunday can't come fast enough this week. Nice to get excited like this. Keep it up Rex, you're doing great.
Rexy speaking the truth. We need to support this coach and the boys come Sunday, really wish I lived in New York he's got me pumped.
I really hope they print an article in the papers or on espn/foxsports about this so it can be communicated to the rest of the fans not on this board! I really hope its not dissapointing either ..ill be headed towards my seat at 1230 as usual to welcome them out of the tunnel!!! LETS GO!
if you go to the game PLEASE be loud! Good thing we have Rex Ryan and if the crowd sucks he'll let you know after the game. I would feel bad letting Rex down! I don't understand how places like Seattle are so loud but NY isn't! C'mon people!
I hope its not like every other year. The crowd is loud and on their feet to start but once Brady converts their first 3rd and 15 the air gets sucked right out of the builiding and the cranky old bastard behind me starts screaming at me to sit down because he cant see and god forbid he actually pulls his fat ass out of the chair more than once a quarter. Last year the crowd was great to start but once Jay missed that field goal that was it. There were some more loud moments but after that but it never really got going again. Not to offend anyone here but its always seems to me that its the older season ticket holders that help suck the energy out of the building. I understand that they've been going forever and I respect that fact but they seem to "switch off" almost instantly. I've been to other NFL stadiums and it seems like the crowd barely sits in their seats. However, the Jets games I've been to (and I've been to many) I always have some guy yelling and/or throwing shit at me when I stand and cheer at 3rd downs. I just dont get it. Its like theses guys just show up to tailgate, get hammered, and leave at halftime. I always seem to get more shit when I sit in the 300's this year I'm in the 200's maybe it will be different. Anyone else go through this??
If you have to hear this from Rex in order to show up in full voice for this game, just stay home. I mean, if you're not cranked up to 11 for this one... I don't know what to say.
did anyone hear Rex on 1050espn yesterday, Michael asked him about his team meeting on Saturday night and how all the players came out of the room pumped up
anyone read this HOUSTON - Big, tough Rex Ryan, the man who called out Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder and famously declared he won't kiss Bill Belichick's Super Bowl rings, couldn't hold back the tears. In the aftermath of his first victory, a 24-7 rout of the Texans Sunday at Reliant Stadium, Ryan choked up during an emotional scene in the locker room, according to Jets players. Safety Kerry Rhodes presented Ryan with the game ball, and it turned into a reverse play. Ryan took the handoff and gave it to owner Woody Johnson, who was standing nearby. Ryan, his voice cracking, thanked Johnson in front of the team for giving him his first head-coaching opportunity. "It meant a lot to him," guard Brandon Moore said. "He had to work his way up to get his chance and he wins his first game. A lot of coaches don't get that opportunity." Ryan was a career assistant, spending 10 seasons in the college ranks and 12 in the NFL before landing the Jets' job last January. There were times when he thought he'd never make it to the top of his profession. One of those times came in 1993, when his father, Buddy, took a swing at fellow Oilers assistant Kevin Gilbride during a game. That game was in Houston. Fitting, huh? The other day, Ryan joked that when he saw his father's punch on TV, he figured he'd be doomed to a career as a Division I-AA assistant. Now he's an undefeated head coach. "It feels great," Ryan said. "You know, shoot, I'm glad we're 1-0. That's where we expected to be." Ryan inherited his father's brashness, and it was reflected in his team's play. The Jets pressured and pounded Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, who was sacked twice and hit six other times. On offense, the Jets took chances, entrusting rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez with a game plan that was anything but conservative. Afterward, the most famous player in Jets history - Joe Namath - gushed about Ryan and his defensive approach. "You watch the Ravens and you watch the Steelers, and you wish you had a defense like that," said Namath, standing outside the locker room. "What our Jets fans saw today was a defense that has a chance to be something like the Ravens or Steelers. If you can field a defense like that ... oh, man, it's a major plus for you." Ryan, a former Ravens assistant, wants to make the Jets the most physical team in the league. He has been talking that way for months, and he punctuated the theme with a rousing speech to the team on the eve of the game. Basically, he described the Texans as a soft team, no match for the Jets. "He works up to a big crescendo, like a Baptist minister," Moore said. Said nose tackle Kris Jenkins: "When he said what he said, I knew from the reaction of the whole team that we were going to be ready to put up a fight." It was like no speech they ever heard from Eric Mangini. As one player said, "It was good to see that, as opposed to what we had before."
The stadium is gonna be BALLISTIC! Just got my wife's Sanchez White jersy from 101 to go along with my Revis green, so we'll be there cheering on our boys to KILL THE PATS!!!
it comes with age for over half of these people. no different from alumni seating filled with people who might as well be sitting on their hands with hannibal lecther masks on. theres also the "rich douche" factor too. some people marginally like sporting events but find it fashionable to attend them just to have a conversation piece. i dont expect people to be showing the exact amount of enthusiasm as say maybe people half their age but dont show up to a fucking football game and pretend your watching the opera or the wiggles on ice with your family you begrudgingly packed into the car. although the same can be said about younger kids who just like to say my teams awesome you suck. but when watching a game cant contribute anything to say about whats going on, on the field. but college game crowds show its simply noisier to have loud drunk kids in most of your crowd, always a better home field advantage. point in case i agree, i hate people who act like wax museum exhibits rather than a fan of the game.
Hopefully that old guy passed on renewing his seats this season like alot of others and some new blood is in the seat. We shouldn't plead with other Jets fans to be loud. They should know this already.
