You have to fire BOTH Rex and idzik. Even tho I believe this mess falls on idziks shoulders for the most part, you can't rebuild properly unless the two are in the same page. You can't force the relationship like the jets did here. Go out, get a new gm that has a brain, and let him hire a coach. That's the only way to truly rebuild. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rex did an amazing job in 2012. the year was horrible overall but we were in the playoff race in dec and we had Chaz Schilens starting.
Idzik could be a blessing in disguise if we fire him, he put us in cap heaven! Now let's get a football mind at GM not a financial mind. Honestly , right now idzik isn't even building for the future ! What future is their? We have young scrubs all over the roster. We have a future frustrating ass team thats about it. We need to MAKE MOVES IN FREE AGENCY! Idzik brainwashed us into thinking he's cooking up some amazing elite future rebuilding process when really he's just LEARNING as he goes, never even was a GM.
yes there is, w/ that team to have them in the race in December was amazing. w/ the lack of talent, the injuries, the Tebow stuff just to be competitive most of the year was incredible.
This is the first weekend in October and were done. This winter is going to SUCK,, Thanks Idizk and Rex for ruining another long Fucking Cold Winter. I am pissed and fucking sick of losing. Fuck it at this point Bring up Simms and lets shoot for the number 1 pick.
So as the HC of this football team, his job along with the GM is to put a competitive product on the field. We traded 2 draft picks for Tebow and decided to ignore everything else. 6 wins is not being competitive. This is a bad argument.
You have got to be kidding me. You're actually defending Idzik's off season pick ups? Idzik would not know talent if it came up and bit him on the ass. Have you not been reading the articles about how he treated players and agents. How Emmanuel Sanders WANTED to come here, but Idzik couldn't take the time to meet him and instead he went to Denver. Both Cros wanted to be here. He wouldn't give Antonio the time of day and he's playing at a pro bowl level (before yesterday) in Arizona and Robert is doing okay (much better than our current crop) with the Jints. You don't sign free agents because there might be someone in the draft?????? That's nuts. You get the best personnel you can and then you draft around it. Idzik did nothing. Why did we spend 5M on Vick. He's as washed up as any player. We had a great every down back and a great change of pace back but we go out and sign Chris Johnson? Need a number 1 receiver and you sign a poor man's Wayne Chrebet (whom I love btw). Decker is a good receiver but he is not a number one. We drafted 3 receivers. 2 have been dumped and one is on the practice squad. That's great drafting! Pryor is probably going to be a decent safety and I liked that pick when it came out but was safety a real need at the time? Amaro is going to be a good one and that was a need. But you drafted a guy at CB who was injured his entire senior year and had a history of injuries. I know it's his knee this year and it was his shoulder last year, but some guys just get hurt more than others. Same with Milliner. Let's see if he can stay on the field. Guys who have histories of injuries in college aren't just going to get healthy and stay healthy when the competition goes up another level. Why Idzik didn't try to package all our wonderful picks and move up in the 3rd round is beyond me. Everyone talked about how this WR draft was the deepest in history. How many of those great ones did we get? ZERO. How many receivers that we drafted are still on the team. ZERO. Hell, how many of the 12 draft picks are still on the team? FIVE. That's it. That's pathetic. Don't talk to me about the hole Idzik got us out of. He dropped 4 big aging salaries. I could have done that. The man has castrated our team and our coach. Rex is gone. I get that. There is nothing he can do to save this team. The problem is by completely submarining Rex, Idzik has destroyed the nucleus that was being built. Just watch, Mo Wilk is going to walk after another year because Idzik is going to low ball him. Our two best OLs are Mangold and D-Brick who are nearing 10 years in the league and THERE IS NOTHING BEHIND THEM!!! At this rate, we will be worse than an expansion team in 2 years. This year held promise for us last January after our finish. Idzik destroyed that hope and now we get to live with the charred ashes. We'll see if the next GM can pull a phoenix out of this fire because Idzik certainly cannot.
he's not the GM, we lost our best O and D players for the year, our only 2 weapons in the pass game for most of the year, we had the tebow distraction and we still were competitive.
The problem I have with this is that the team says the right things, but somewhere in Florham Park players are not doing the right thing. Talent isn't the issue with this team, with the exception of corner and receiver, however the Jets didn't get shellacked because of those deficiencies. They got beat because they were unprepared and didn't do the work required to have a chance to win. They may think they love Rex, but they sure as hell won't love what comes after him if they keep this shit up. Their laziness will cost Rex his job, and this organization will be flipped upside down and completely emptied out. You reap what you sow.
At the end of the day, Rex was involved in the transaction. He also made the mistake of hiring Sparano - a guy with no offensive coordinator experience. We were not competitive. We got swept by the Pats and won 3 conference games. 3. You have got to be kidding me. The moment Tebow came into the building was the moment the Jets playoff hopes went out the window - I knew it from the start.
Rex was not the GM. we were in the playoff race in december, something we likely will not be this year. Tebow hurt but that trade alone didn't kill us, losing Holmes and keller were the big blows.
That trade created a circus atmosphere. We were still a bad team all year long, that team was awful to watch - and it was not competitive compared to our competitiors. They got to 6 wins because they played some pretty bad teams that year. The game against Pittsburgh at home? We got dominated. The 30-9 loss to the Dolphins? Awful. Rex has had 2 poor coaching seasons this one and 2012. That team didn't come out to play the majority of the time, that's something Rex is responsible for.
we played Pitt on the road in 2012 and we had a chance in the 4th qtr. the Miami game was awful, we had already lost Homes and keller was never healthy that season. doesn't matter how bad the teams were we beat, we crushed playoff bound Indy.
