Not the steelers in the first one for sure. Ben ws awful that entire year and in the SB as well. He made a few big plays, but was far from carrying that team.
That's true. Hindsight legitimizes Ben in that game, but he did perform pretty terribly. It was Randle El and Ward that did most of the work, with Willie Parker's run when it came to the offense for that game.
Most of my family are steelers fans, I remeber that day well, 3 hours of them bitching that Ben is going to lose it for them before he somehow morphed into the "next great NFL QB" in one throw. I fucking hate steeler fans lol. :steelers:
A shut down defense can win a title, although a lot of them (ours last year for instance) don't. A high-powered offense can give you a dynasty, assuming the defense is good. I'd much rather have a high-powered offense and a competent defense than vice-versa. That high-powered offense would keep the Jets in contention for a Super Bowl for years. A great defense with just a competent offense would be good for losing a lot of games in the playoffs when it ran into a great offense playing in good conditions, although it might well give us a Super Bowl win at some point like the Ravens and Bucs did.
