Rex is a loyal guy. He sticks behind his shitty players regardless how they play. You have to at least give him the fact that he is loyal.
What QBs right now in the league would fit that to get a comparison? If I'm reading you right, Big Ben, Cutler, Matt Ryan, Rodgers type? Can extend plays with legs, can deal with an average to terrible O line, and will stand and take a hit instead of preserving their body?
Rex Ryan is not gonna win anything as long as he is a jet coach..Sanchez is never going to win anything cause all he cares about is spending woody's money..
I think Ryan has decided he's going to go down with the ship. He's got no other options right now, unless he decides to undertake the monumental task of overhauling and changing the offense during a bye week for Tim Tebow. So, what else is he going to do? No choice but to stick with Sanchez and ride it out until the off-season.
And then we have 0 QBS and the realistic move would be to restart completely. If he keeps Sanchez, he can say Tanny handcuffed him with the contract and that there weren't many options. Let me get a new QB via draft. I think the best way for him to keep his job is for Sanchez/Tanny to be the fall guy, not finding out that the 2 QBs you extended and traded for are the answer. That might issue a full restart meaning bye bye Rex. That;s my opinion on it.
If the jets are going to go to Tebow this is probably the best and only time for them to do it. The jets would need to totally reshape their offense in order to fit Tebow's style, and with the extra week to prepare because of the bye, what better time then now? Sparano clearly has not put much thought into how to utilize Tebow, but if he concentrated on it for the next two weeks, I think he could come up wit some good ideas. Maybe the previous lack of Tebow will turn out to be a good thing because there is nothing on tape. If that fails, well there's some pretty decent quarterback options in the draft.
Not even Sanchez believes him anymore when he says those things. He has to before the firestorm get's any bigger than it currently is.
when there's an owner who's priority is competing with the giants and making headlines and being the center of attention I believe that's the case as well.
It was cause sanchez stunk at the end of last season... And tebow is insurance for what's going on right now... And they wanted to play tebow in the wildcat in which sparano has no clue on. It was all dave lee ..
I really thought the Jets would be going to tebow around this time and run a tebow style offense. But they haven't even been able to scheme anything good for Tebow to do so far, so I don't know what they are gonna do.
it was more a publicity move then anything to me. if that was the sole reason, the jets shoulda seriously pursued kyle orton during the offseason. granted he's not a long term option but he's a serviceable qb. he woulda been the perfect backup because when sanchez struggled he woulda been capable of coming in and playing decent.
^ Save it for the Phins board. You really think anyone wants to read a book (I read about half of 1) on how great the Phins are right now?
