Until Rex Ryan has 2 SB rings, 3 appearances, takes 4 franchises to the playoffs, and nearly makes a career out of berating reporters alone, he isn't the "new tuna". Is he impressive? Yes, but he's not the new Parcells.

The similarities you see are confidence, drive, determination, and hard ass attitude.

The Jets haven't had that since Tuna, so thats why he's the 1st comparision in your mind.

The only similarities between Parcells and Rex is that they were DC's in their careers and they're both FAT! Major emphasis on the "Fat" part; No offense but geez....Rex looked like he actually may have eaten Steve Spagnoula or something.....

I concur, something about Ryan reminds me of Parcells when he first took over the Giants. We can only hope that Ryan is as successful as the Tuna.

He reminds me of Parcells somewhat too, especially the way he was saying 'you know' in the press conference. He even physically resembles him somewhat. I think he is more outwardly confident in some of his rhetoric. Whether he will be able to preform like Parcells is an entirely different story. But on the surface I can see the similarities.

I saw the same ammount of excitement on this board when both Edwards and Mangini were hired, at least this time we hired a guy with actual coordinator experience and a PROVEN record.

That press conference was the best 30 minutes of action from this team inthe last two months!
