Just to set the facts straight: after winning div in 1998 and making championship game we missed the playoffs the next 2 years including a classic choke job in 2000. our drafts were horribly bad from 1997-1999, we had a good one w/ 4 1st rd picks and getting Coles in round 3 but 2 of the 4 1st rounders were hurt a lot and the TE we drafted was booed out of town. The team they inherited was in cap hell, a much worse spot than what Idzik inherited. They took the talent in 2001 that the Jets couldn't win w/ the 2 previous years and won 10 games and made playoffs. THEN b/c of the cap situation had to let many players go, got gift of expansion draft to clean up cap but still lost 3 good players- Aaron Glenn, Ryan Young and Marcus Coleman to do so. Completely retooled and then won division title becoming ONLY team in BRady era to win AFC East Title in year BRady was primary starter for NE. as team started aging had to retool again and again team made playoffs in 2004 and was one of 2 makeable kicks away from AFC Championship Game. The team was never run into the ground, the team kept getting better but injuries to our best players(Chad and Abe) killed us. Healthy again in '06 won 10 games and made playoffs.
