Come to think of it, that's probably their plan, considering Woody has already played RG. Huh. I'm surprised I didn't think of that, too. Value to the team? Ehn, I'd say they're par. But am I kind of saying that Moore is a better player than Faneca? No, it's exactly what I'm saying. Faneca's strength is run blocking and Moore is better than him at that. Faneca is notoriously bad at pass blocking and is getting worse, allowing seven sacks this past season. Leadership and experience is where Faneca's value is and will continue to be, not on-field talent.
If I remember correctly, he was a pro bowl RT for the Pats in the beginning of his career, then sucked it up at RG with Detroit prior to switching back to RT for a few decent games with Detroit and a solid season last year. Definitely a good reason not to move Woody, and demonstrates a greater need to retain Moore.
^The two about equal for run blocking. Faneca has the better technique but Moore is stronger and faster. As for pass blocking, Faneca last year was straight up garbage and gave up the most sacks on the o-line while Moore only gave up 2.
The head coach has no favorites no bias. His opinion of personel is based on the tape, not what order he was picked in the draft, how much he is payed and what his potential was for the last 5 years or so.... see Bryan Thomas. Its time to let go of the Bradway/Herm players that just do the job and replace them with guys that make plays. Ellis should go also, he dissapears games at a time. The question is, can they replace these guys with good players.
i gotta agree with champ here, if you are at home in bed alone with your laptop 25 minutes after leaving the bar... you have failed miserably for the evening. you are better off just admitting you failed that particular evening rather than trying to make it look ok. in essence while trying to defend yourself you are making yourself look more pitiful. which i am sure you are not. we cant all get laid every night by a different girl, well that is unless our name is champ but he is in tight with hugh.
its even more sad that he can't answer a simple question and has to play the real life cool angle. I find that really sad. I'm not even going near my real life on here, that's how you turn into a laughingstock by flexing your real life muscles on the internet.... ok i'm an epic failure over one night and then back on here the minute i got back... i conceed - OMG i'm such a loser... BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I don't care how I look on the internet.... how about this... i'm 5'3 165 lbs, fat, and never gotten laid. I love emo music and a wack it 3 times a day.... I live on the internet and i have a bed in the basement of my parent's house... i have 2 real life friends, but about 40 internet friends.... I love japanese porn. I still collect stuffed animals. I talk to real girls sometimes, when my cousins come over for holidays. I'm afraid to commit suicide because I'll fuck it up. Maybe someone can kill me instead. I'll never be like FiremanginiEd, I wish to have his life history.... someone sig quote that. One night doesn't make me a failure. You are right about that, which makes him wrong.... oh, look I won an internet battle - someone crown me. The fact remains is he hates his life and I find that funny.
back to the thread topic..... Ryan will clean house and remove those Mangini specific players.. which he pretty much has already done. He will bring in "his guys," every coach does that. I expect football players first and foremost, even if their character is a little off. They will know how to smack you in the mouth, and stand on you when you are down... like real football is played.
Dammit im gonna miss the Mangini boys who dared to walk on the wild side play ferociously and talk to the media.............................not.
yeah, i trust Ryan to bring in better plug and play guys than Mangini... then again, Mangini didn't really know how to do the whole plug and play philosophy with the defense
I didn't like releasing Moore, but then every coach brings in his players - maybe he has someone in his mind. I would have to see how Rex addresses the void in the right side; he did say he prefers running game, and he just released one of the most valued asset in running game. I don't know what he's thinking for now. I'm hoping he has a plan in place.
Dude, you just admitted you came home from the bar alone. And you can make fun of my minivan all you want, but stop propositioning me.
I don't think letting go of Barrett, Bowens, Kassel, Baker and Moore should be considered blowing it up. Moore will be missed and Bowens' leadership will be missed, but it's not like we've lost a bunch of our core guys.
Ray lewis meets all the criteria listed above. So what if hes getting up in age he can still bring it on game day. Others will feed off this and the D will finally have some identity!
