Okay, so looking at things there is possibility 3 or 4 people that say yes, to Rex being the headcoach. That is my personal opinion is it should be Kliff Kingsbury as Headcoach and Rex Ryan as Defensive Coordinator.....

What are some opinions about that?

Least we forget Calvin Pryor out of Louisville. A hard hitting safety in the first round that couldn't cover, had bad hands but came with a cool sounding nickname.

That's all Rex Ryan right there:D

I get the hate for Coples, but both Sheldon and Mo were pretty players. Vernon Gholston - now _that_ is a bust.

Plus Sheldon was drafted in 2013 and Ryan was fired Eo2014. Who knows what Sheldon would have become with good coaching, and one thing for sure, Rex knew how to coach up defensive players and get them to play.

Ooof. Talk about a year where we had the 18th pick and what looks now like 8 (!) hall-of-famers were drafted before we picked.

Would definitely have been the year to trade up...

True, but there's no question that he had big influence on those picks. Didn't they draft a first round DE/DT like 5 years in a row?

Unless anyone here was in the room with Ryan and the GMs during his tenure or has quotes from him or anyone else involved stating how much he influenced any drafting there's plenty of questions to be asked about how much input he had in each draft.

That, of course, would have absolutely no relevance as to how much influence he would have in the future with whoever becomes the new GM if he is hired, not that I support such an act anyway. Jets GMs of the era have quite the well earned reputation of screwing up drafts without trying to lay the blame on anyone else.
