I think Idzik already screwed up and missed the best deal we will get. A 2nd this year and 1st next year. A 1st next year would be worth more when we try to get our next QB.
Paying Revis $13.5 million a year is absurd and that is why the Jets should trade him for the 2014 first round pick TB is supposedly offering. The market for top CBs is nowhere near that kind of money. Revis wants to be paid like a QB. Trade his greedy ass now or get nothing for him when he leaves in 2014. Take the pick and the cap space and spend the money on more valuable positions and less selfish players. Bye bye
I'm surprised there isn't more leaked news out about Revis today. I guess it's just a standoff between the Jets and the Bucs at this point.
My thoughts exactly. I actually like the Garrard signing. but the way Idzik has handled the Revis situation has been terrible.
There's this tweet: https://twitter.com/MarkCook1970/status/312701735745515522 "Revis deal very close. Hang in there Bucs fans. Spoke to someone this evening who said, the smoke is so thick it's burning my eyes." - Mark Cook beat writer for the Bucs Not sure if this guy has connections or is just making stuff up. I'm not familiar with him.
So while we trade the best player ever to wear a Jet uni, Sanchez and Tebow make up like 15 million dollars! Wonderful.
and the guy responsible is fired. don't hate the new guy who is stuck with cleaning up the mess. i'd take the 1st next year and the 2nd this year. we could get a nice player with the 2nd rounder this year and hav the ammo to make sure we can get up to the 3rd pick nect year for a chance at manziel/teddy/the clown all 3 are possible franchise changing players
They need to just make any deal. First round this or next. It doesn't matter. The jets are going nowhere fast. They need to get rid of revis, not because he can't play. On the business side he's a nightmare and will hold any orginization hostage, contract in place or not. Time to move on this deal
The Jets are going to get what they were looking for out of the Revis trade. Idzik and Woody have played this one very close to the vest and they're going to wind up with a good deal that leaves the Bucs happy also in the end. That's the way it should be in a deal of these dimensions.
That's exactly how I feel. It's all about giving ourselves the best possible chance to draft a franchise changing Quarterback in 2014. If trading Revis makes it more likely to happen then I do it in a heartbeat. I'd be delighted with a 2nd this year and a 1st in 2014. We're not going to be very good this season and at best we'd be around 10th pick overall but I could see us as a top 5 lock. With the ammunition of a 2nd 1st rounder to trade up with puts us in a great position. Better still if we land in the top 3 already we get to bring in another 1st round talent to add to our young roster. Thats the way I see it, Revis is hopefully leading us to our franchise QB.
Does anyone know where that link was that showed no pro bowl corners in superbowl winning teams in the past so many years??
Why hello there... Hey guys... so I here y'all looking to get rid of this Revis fellow? Is he any good?
It will cost you a few high round picks in multiple years to find out. Put it this way, he makes Ronde in his prime look like Lito Sheppard. But it will cost you...
