Completely idiotic. The best player in Jets history, and one of the best defensive players in the NFL, and we are letting him go. Woody will extend the worst QB in the NFL just because his feelings were hurt, but refuses to pay a player who literally shuts down the best WR's in the NFL on a weekly basis. The brilliance is overwhelming.
I suppose anything is possible but it seems completely unrealistic to me and I'd be absolutely floored if it happened.
Wow you went 0-2 in this post. It's a smart move and Woody didn't extend anyone. That would be the job of the GM, the GM that was fired. Good try though.
I understand but that would clear some serious cap for us...I guess with our luck it won't happen, thanks Tanny
Do you agree that the trade should only happen if Revis's contract demands were indeed 15+ mil? Or do you think he should be traded regardless due to the nature of the injury?
Anything over $10 mil for a CB when youre trying to rebuild is stupid. Hence, he needed to be traded.
all this really means is that the jets are officially in talks with the bucs. it could also mean they were unable to come to terms with revis this week. fuck
No but I think whatever he signs with TB for will be at least 1 penny less than what he would have insisted on from the Jets..so if he gets 15 mil (and I think he will) then that is way, way too much for a CB so I will be glad this trade got done.
So, are people now pretending the owner has no say in extending players? Is that the new thing to deflect blame from Woody? Tanny was trash, but I find it very, very, very unlikely that decisions like extending Sanchez and trading Revis do not get run by Woody.
I believe the trade should happen regardless of Revis' demands because this is the only way Jets can acquire badly needed extra picks for rebuilding.
Also how exciting would Thursday be to have the 9 and 13. Anyways like others said if Tampa locks revis for around 8 million a year it would annoying as money was a primary reason we traded him. If the deal ends up being 14-15 million a year, I don't think I would have1 problem with the trade unless we got little compensation back
One can go back and forth on the justified compensation for all-pro coming off a serious injury. The landing spot in TB, however, makes total sense though. To be able to lockdown Colston, White/Jones, Smith is pretty tempting in that division.
Bucs fans on twitter really want him don't seem to care what they give up hopefully their organization feels the same way haha
