I honestly think Revis was the worst player in the NFL this season. Zero picks, like 4 passes defended, and he shied away from contact the way Todd Bowles shied away from benching the worst QB in the league. Revis WAS a great player in his time,, but Parcells would have benched him before the season was half over. If Rogers wants him back it shows what a clueless DC the jets have, AND what a clueless head coach the jets have for making him the DC. Rodgers obviously thinks Revis was worth the $17M. Idiot.
I wouldn't want Revi$ back if he would play for free, but then again he us a good mentor to the young and upcoming on this team, he sure knows how to screw a team.

Revis will cost the team $8m in dead money nex year, so its not a foregone conclusion he's gone. 2018 is a $8m savings , so he's more likely to be cut after 2017. Revis knows he would essentially be playing for a contract next year, so if he's got anything left, I assume he'll show it next season. If Revis was nursing injuries this year, and if he is used differently next season (safety?) he might be worth it next year. The most disappointing thing about this thread is not that Revis may be back next year, but the assertion that Kacy Rodgers wants him back. Bringing Rodgers back as DC is much tougher to accept than bringing Revis bsck.
I'm torn on Revis. I never really wanted him back in the first place, and was against it every time that it was mentioned, both after his release from the Bucs and then after being released by New England. So, that part of me would be more than happy to see him go off and leave the Jets franchise. The other part of me wants him to return to do something to actually earn the money the franchise paid him this season.
You can never garner anything meaningful from a Rodgers presser so him saying Revis can still play is just talk. With Revis' cap figure and cap savings if we get rid of him, there is literally no shot he returns.

Agreed. No way he should come back at 13M. If he isn't relied on to be the best guy in the secondary I am sure they will find some uses for him. I think he may retire too though.
Cut him. Hold a press conference to complain about how much money he absorbed compared to his play on the field and obvious lack of locker room leadership. At age 80 I figured he could play to the capacity that he did this year. I think contracts in pro sports should be based on what you do on the field season to season. If you play like shit, you get shit pay. I guarantee revis wouldn't have looked like a scared puss this season.
It doesn't matter what Kacey wants. There is no way Macc can maneuver in off season without major cuts in the current payroll, of which Revis' is the major albatross. Your going to keep the most exposed corner in the league who has never taken a paycut in his friggin' life? Bowles input goes as far as too what players he'd like.....
