I didn't think Revis played well in the playoffs. He did not have a good game against the Ravens and was a non-factor in the SB. But, if a team is one DB away from a title, it might be worth paying Revis $12+ million for a season, but not for a team like the Jets that has holes to fill almost everywhere. He had a great years in 09-10, but was nothing but a headache with his annual constant never-ending all encompassing infatuation with his next big contract.

I guess I think the Jets are closer to being a SB contender than most fans. I really think he would make our defense truly elite by essentially taking away 1/2 of the field on the back end, making the pass rush that much more effective (I think the sons of anarchy will be even more dominant this year with another year of experience playing together, and Coples will blossom under Bowles imo). Plus who knows who else we add in FA and the draft.

So, putting on my green colored glasses for a bit, I think our D would be elite with Revis back, and our offense will be improved under Gailey, with Geno making big strides, our running game and WR corps improved in FA and the draft, our o-line improved in FA, etc....so I think we could conceivably jump to 9-7 or 10-6, or maybe even better, if we add Revis. I would rather spend all our extra cap money on a couple true difference makers than on a bunch of cheap mediocre players. That plus the draft could really improve this team almost immediately...just my opinion.

Can't forget the possibility of this either. Woody and Idzik are no longer standing in his way.

Maxwell is going to be overpaid very soon. I hope it's not by us.

we have a ton of money who cares if a guy makes a million or 2 more than he should be making. That's that idzik shit. WE HAVE NEEDS AND WERE THE JETS! We're going to have to damn near overpay anybody we really WANT to come in. Plus we HAVE to spend alot more money than any of us would probably want to this offseason.. so might as well go all in. It's not like Maxwell is old

We have to be smart about where we spend our money, and who we give the big bucks to. If we open up the vault for a player, they better be an elite difference maker, not an average player.

I don't think Maxwell is that good. He's not a shutdown corner, but you're gonna have to pay him as if he is one.
