Sanchez does NOT need a veteran mentor. The time for that was THIS year, and quite frankly he developed great this year and will continue to do so with the same coaching staff and system. This is the least of our problems and bringing in Chad would only have negative effects on this team
SERIOUSLY? A soft armed QB that just had his THIRD shoulder surgery, not to mention that he was unceremoniously dumped by this team..... but hey he's a nice guy.
It would be awesome to have a guy like Chad back to help mentor the kid but i doubt it would happen. I think he'd rather go to a situation where the starting QB isn't really settled and be able to possibly play his way back into a starting roll. I could see him maybe winding up in Washington or someplace like that.
I strongly doubt he'd ever want to (1) come back here and (2) be a backup. But hey, if he will, then there aren't many QBs that I'd rather have backing up Sanchez.
After Pennington's last injury setback, what team would hire him as their starting QB. At best they would sign him to compete for the starting job and this is only if he is healthy. I think Chad needs to look into a mirror and see that time is no longer on his side. On the other hand, I think he would make an excellent backup QB. He could help Sanchez along with his knowledge, preperation and most importantly help Sanchez analyze his reads. Say what you want about Chad's arm strength, the man can read a defense. Plus, if Sanchez ever was injured, we could go back to ground and pound and short passes/playaction with Chad.
Chad just needs to retire and go coach high school football back in his hometown. His arm is done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
What about Kerry Collins? gettin old, good veteran for sanchez to learn stuff from. He seems like he might still wanna play though so he might get a starting job somewhere.
can this guy even play anymore? if not I'd gladly take him as an assistant qb coach but nothing more.
Bring back Favre as a veteran mentor! He can teach Sanchez to sling it and throw picks that cost his team championship games... wooohooo!
if there is a way for this to happen i'd love for it to happen. Chad is familiar with the NY media, he's got a great football mind, and would work wonders for Mark and his decision making
Yeah, Johnny, but from what i read he has a bonus coming up sometime in march or something like that worth way to much to be a backup so they'll try to get rid of him.
Yea i was thinking bout what if he got cut. But in retrospect wouldnt he hafta consider two things.1) Would he even want to be a backup when he could possibly start somewhere and 2) After getting 7.5 mil a yr what kind of money would he demand? I don't think he'll come close to that figure but 2-4mil it not totally out of the question and we need someone (If they are a Veteran) to make Veterans Minimum or somewhere around that number
But what could Kellen do that Ainge or O'Connell couldn't? Thats the reason why we need a Vet QB but also more for experience purposes then play-time.
