    Cottrell is one of those guys who inexplicably stopped getting jobs. At this point, I think his luck just ran out.

    Something really should be said for how bad this guy was. He was probably the most overrated coordinator in league history. I think that all came to a head when the Vikings hired him, brought in a slew of high talent free agents, and faired WORSE on defense this year. That's practically inexcusable.

    Yet we won a div title(only the 2nd ever AFC East Title) and made 2 PO apps w/ that crew and a 3rd w/ hackett and Donnie Henderson. According to most on here we had terrible coaching and a terrible QB- how did we win so much?

    I just marvel at how bad our coaching staff was coupled w/ how bad our QB was yet the franchise got better w/ those guys.

    I wonder what the current consensus on the board would be comparing Herm/Hackett/Cottrel(Henderson) with Mangini/Schottenheimer/Sutton.
