this is correct, and folks turned on him QUICKLY. i remember because i was thinking jeez these posters really turned on this guy fast. i think it was because of rex and some peoples attitude that he could do no wrong. but i dont recall. i dont care for him, he was a big unnamed sources guy. and for that you can just make shit up. so i have no use for him.
New Manish article.. Feeling from NYJ that Cousins’ agent (also McCown’s agent) slow played the process and led the Jets to believe they had a chance in order to back them into a corner and force them to bring back McCown as the starter after losing out on other options. Seems overly elaborate, not sure I buy it.
Well duh. You really think Cousins wanted to helm this crapfest? Fucking dude turned a backup QB into 10 million. Macc is a rank amateur.
Yea it was pretty strange that the only rationale for the Jets having a chance was an offensive coordinator who’s never met Cousins and has never called a play for the team. Might’ve been bullshit all along.
Check out this article from PFT, which seems to support that theory. If you assume (quite reasonably) that the Jets were the team that offered more than the Vikings, it seems that the agent who represented both Cousins and McCown was trying to talk Cousins out of taking the Jets' offer in a way that really disparaged the Jets organization. If Cousins had accepted the Jets' offer, where would McCown have gone? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/15/agent-vikings-didnt-offer-cousins-most-money/
For us cheap/thrifty folks blocked by the Daily News paywall, here's a summary of Mehta's latest. While I'm not a fan of the guy, his theory here has the ring of truth. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ets-offered-kirk-cousins-30-million-per-year/
Eff Cousins. His agent is saying he didn't even come close to taking the best offer. At least he's a man of his word and didn't take the most money like he said he'd do. I can respect that. I'm glad Cousins didn't come here. Things can change so fast in the NFL that Cousins opinion doesn't really matter to me. What were the Vikings at this point 12 months ago? Now all of a sudden they're a much more desirable desitination/better organization to go to than the Jets? I think that's a bad deal for the Vikings. JMO The Jets? If we luck out on this QB pick (we're looooooooong overdue) ...
The thing that bothers me about this is what about the # of years? Vikings offered 3 years fully guaranteed. Did the Jets do the same?
Tbf. If you find out they have the same agent you could just write the story up. It's not like people wouldn't think it's believable. Personally I think this was Kirks choice on where to go, even if his agent put his 2 cents in. Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
