They’re only bad on game day. They look great at practice and they’re unbeatable during their bye week.
Gents, As I see it this CS overestimated their ability to coach JF up (that is if they actually are coaching him). AS others have pointed out he is not good and his NFL career shows that. Having said that, the real culprits are the FO and HC responsible for this shit show. These arrogant asses thought (actually over estimated their inherent capabilities) that they "are" better then they are..and they so far, are bad. They build a O to suit the guy they went after and this stiff still can not function...no wonder the OC is having nightmares...assuming he is. Then you have this HC who is very close to losing the locker room (IMHO - if he hasn't lost part of it already) based on reports that players wanted the BO QB and what does this fool do he announce that he is sticking with him...why because in his opinion he didn't play bad in other games... maybe I need glasses but what the **** is this guy looking at. This goes back to his arrogrance and his capabilities.... IMHO he is not the solution nor is the GM..both seem over their collective heads.
Yes we are the only winless team but there are a few teams with only one win and they make softer strength of schedule than us so yeah I guess we may as well keep losing most just that losing like this rots the morale … it breeds apathy and you lose players mentally…
In this draft I don’t think that makes a big difference, from everything I read there isn’t any QB with that kind of pedigree.
Let me get this off my chest. This team nor any other NFL team has plans for tanking. Period. They are professional players out there working their asses off and they want to win. Q, JJ, Sauce, Wilson, on down the line. It’s their reputation, their livelihood and their legacy that are on the line. Most are giving 100%plus and are leaving it all out there. But this CS has failed them and is not putting them in the best position to win, and sure as hell not playing the best players like AG was so adamant about. The players can see right through the BS and rapidly becoming sick of this shit show driven by two key factors. A QB that is completely incapable to play the position, short of an occasional run, and a HC that refuses to accept he is way over his head, unwilling to listen to feedback and stubborn to boot. He is loosing credibility and loosing the team. The bravado and tough talk has gone by the wayside, and his commitment to play the best players is a joke starting at the most critical position. Their first free agency move has been a dismal failure. Suck it up and change it. This is not about tanking, this is about failing miserably and wasting the hard effort by many a good player. This is about a HC making bad decisions and un willing to make changes.
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl...raft-picks-tom-brady/v5ogmz4smlyjgcbmukswchiz Ross wasn’t found guilty of pressuring Flores to tank, but… The NFL's report did provide an explanation for the comments that Ross had made to Flores during the 2019 NFL season. Notably, the investigator concluded that Ross' message was not a "serious offer," as she explained in the report. "One such comment is a claimed offer by Mr. Ross to pay Coach Flores $100,000 to lose games, as to which there are differing recollections about the wording, timing, and context," the report reads. "However phrased, such a comment was not intended or taken to be a serious offer, nor was the subject pursued in any respect by Mr. Ross or anyone else at the club." ——— That Droopy Dog lookin’ motherfucker definitely wanted to tank.
Who was it in the game thread who wanted a sudden debilitating attack of food allergies? Wasn't there some old movie where the whole team got sick because of bad oysters and the replacement players all came in? Maybe we can get that chef. Edit: Found it. Second String.
You know what would be an interesting question, "Garrett, do you STILL feel as if Justin Fields should be the QB of the Jets?" This kid was all gung ho about having his college buddy on the team. I wonder if that still holds true today. Would be a shithole question but a more interesting answer. At this point, maybe we are ALL missing the point. Maybe Aaron Glenn is "crazy like a fox!" MAYBE he actually DID bring Fields on to tank the season assuring themselves the 1st pick in the draft! And, the reason he's so sour is because the current crop of college QB's is now turning out to look like a pile of shit. At the beginning of the season there were, what, 5 supposed QB's better than ALL the QB's drafted in 2025! Now, it's looking more like even the best ones aren't worth a 1st round grade above possibly pick 20-ish! Hey, this much LOSING has me delusional, I need to rationalize this crap somehow.
Hummm. I like you your rationalization Mez, but no, he is not that visionary. He was crazy alright, thinking he could resurrect Fields, but not like a fox, more like a rookie that overestimated his HC acumen. He is learning the hard way how tough it is to be a HC, a Purcell clone without any of the experience. He is now in full survival mode.
Garrett Wilson can’t go 2 years in a row criticizing the QB. He just needs to catch the ball when counted on for a little bit
