I hope Snyder goes after Sanchez- the price for Campbell would not be too exorbitant. He's still got untapped potential- good size and a good arm. He's also athletic and can scramble for a first when needed.

Like some have said, confidence is his biggest thing. Rex would light a fire under his ass in a heartbeat.

NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang says he's heard that the Jets may be among the teams interested in Brady Quinn.

Dealing for Quinn could be a fallback plan if the Jets can't trade up for Mark Sanchez. Still, Quinn is even more unproven than Kellen Clemens. Quinn has more physical ability, but would likely take the 17th overall pick to acquire.

You know, every season we hear that the Jets are interested in every single player out there right before the draft.

    Good job Tannenbaum.

I was thinking the same thing. These smokescreens give us a huge advantage when it comes to negotiating, though many teams have probably caught on, and this may not work again.

Even if teams have caught on, it's not really easy to read through that what exactly they want. :)

So DC wants to unload him. And this makes him a good fit for NY how?

Didn't we just pick up a Qb from DC a couple of years ago? Former first round pick who didn't cut it there? We knew better?

He's in his contract year, will have to learn a new system, so do you let him play out the year? Or sign him to an extension, but at what price?

Imo the Jets are not good at this type of move. They have a proven record of screwing up.

Plus we STILL don't know how capable the team's second round pick in Clemens is, who btw is also entering his contract year. But at least with him you can extend his current contract for a year, without first having to trade for him and then negotiate.

On top of that no matter what people say about Snyder Campbell has not done well there. He's not much more of a known factor as a future franchise Qb than Clemens.

I hope the Jets pass on this one. Very much so.

    Campbell
1 Has good size he is 6'5 230.
2 He has a better arm than Kellen.
3 He is smart he has had to learn 3 new playbooks 3 straight years & he is a coaches son.
4 He had 3,245 yards, 62.3% completion percentage & only 6 picks in 506 attempts.

I would give a 3rd round pick for him.

Yeah, if he was so great Washington (who btw is coached by a QB) wouldn't be trying to get any other QB on the planet so they can dump him.

Campbell is not garbage. His owner is garbage and his situation is garbage.

Snyder is the second worst owner to Al Davis with an equivalent ego.

For Campbell's sake, I hope he gets traded and becomes a star. He is a team guy w/ talent.

But I want the Jets to give our roster QBs one more shot.

It's all moot. Detroit will reach a deal with Stafford today.

What does Stafford have to do with it? That article meant to say (and did say farther down) Sanchez. There was never a chance Washington could move up for Stafford. Not with all of their picks this year and next could they do that. The thing is that Cleveland may now take Sanchez and Washington can't move up to five either. That is where the Jets come in and trade for Quinn or Anderson.

Snyder has proven time and time again that he doesn't know the first thing about evaluating talent and building a franchise. Just because Snyder's looking to get rid of Campbell shouldn't be viewed as a knock on Campbell...that's retarded. I don't think he's the next Tom Brady....but i think Campbell has potential....and could be a good fit for Schotty's offense. I'd give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him.

The guy doesn't throw interceptions (only 6 last year I believe...in 506 attempts or so )...has shown he can manage the game....and has proven he can win in one of the toughest divisions in the league.

He looks like a young Pennington...but with an arm. I'd take that.

He doesn't throw TD passes either. The Redskins had a top 5 D and a very good running attack. Granted they are in the toughest division in football but their passing game has not been very good.

I'm not knocking him just pointing out that the low INT is also couples with very few TD's and an overly conservative passing O that hasn't gotten it done with a good running attack and a very good D. It could be youth and scheme but it could be his mental makeup?

If we can get Campbell for a 3rd rd pick then we should go for it. Another good Qb in a messed up situation. Let him Kellen and Ratliff fight it out and if they all fall we get a great pick to get our Qb of the future in next years draft. A WR, DE and Rb to replace Jones are more important than the possible latest Usc Bust in Sanchez and Freeman as well. Fix the rest of the team and give whoever our Qb of the future is a chance to succeed when he starts to play.

it could very well be his mental make up....Campbell has shown issues with his confidence in the past....but how much of that is having to learning a new offence every year, coupled with having to compete with Brunell for the starter job in his first couple of seasons.

Given what Rex has told the media thus far...regarding how he wants to run the offense this season (run first, game manage, smash mouth)...it would seem a QB like Campbell would fit this description to a tee. The guy is mobile, he makes good decisions, doesn't commit a lot of turnovers, and certainly has the arm to execute the playaction pass.

I'm not advocating that we trade for him or put Campbell on a pedestal and pray to him...i'm just saying, I think he would be the prototypical QB of what Rex is looking for to run his offense...I'm sure there are other QBs out there that fit the same bill....but Campbell is still young, and has game winning experience...just my .02 :)
