If the reports are true about Oakland grabbing Geno, it would make sense to get Quinn. None of the QBs here are 1st round material. Curious as to who the 5th QB will be though. My guess is that it will be a rookie. Most likely Glennon or Bray...
Honestly, from watching him play at State (student and everything) I see him going as a 3rd or 4th round pick.
Wow. I see him going in the 2nd. And I didn't think the Jets would spend a 2nd on a QB with all the holes they have to fill. Maybe 4th, but I don't see him lasting that long.
Without making this a super draft topic, I like him. It's just that he seems inconsistent. His balls get batted down way too many times for a guy being 6'6. He can make some monster throws, but he can also make some really stupid decisions (he took like 3 safeties this year due to poor pocket awareness). Then again, I'm not a huge draft guru.
I like Quinn not to mention David Lee thinks he can make him into a player Said he has a stronger arm than both Manning bro's so hopefully we can find that inner magic Quinn failed to unleash in Cleveland
We're going to keep bringing in QB's until someone beats out Sanchez. If any of you show up to training camp there's a good chance Rex will give you a shot to be the starting QB.
Next we'll be asked to get excited over Kevin Kolb. (DISCLAIMER: Right now I probably would get excited over Kevin Kolb.)
I think the point(s) are: 1. If we are going to trade Revis we will be in cap hell due to the acceleration of the signing bonus we gave him onto the current cap (aka we'll have less money available than keeping him on the roster). 2. In said cap hell we will definitely have no room to spend money on a decent (not good, just decent) QB, because they're fucking expensive. Why not roll the dice at QB this season and try to fix the overall mess at other positions?
I was talking some friends about it and we thought best case scenario- he finds some of that potential working with MM and Lee and gives us an impact QB, Chad-like worst case- flames out
Brady Quinn played well when he went to Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish. The Jets wear green and white. Irish and green, perfect match! Give him number four, as in the clover leaves and he's golden.
This times one hundred!! I will wait until the draft to determine judgement on this team, but I think Rex may have to go at the end of this year and we need a good offensive minded HC.
The only upside to this is with any of the named QB's in this "competition", the Jets are almost guaranteed a top pick 1st thru 5th. in the 2014 draft. Couple that with a possible Revis trade and you can see how down the road, bringing in Quinn and keeping Sanchez could be a good thing. This might be the Jets method of "Suck for Luck" formerly known as dumping. This also gives Ryan a built in excuse for staying on past 2013 as well. As far as the FO and CS goes, getting 5 of the worst QB's in the NFL on the roster is a win/win as it gives everyone responsible cover from the Fan and Media outrage that is sure to come. Nothing like a built-in parachute when you know the Jet is gonna crash and burn.
Oh, it gets much better. *Edit - I see where this was reported from a different source on the last page *
