Interesting, why wasn't that the case pre-Rex? we certainly had many train wreck seasons. We are relevant now and Miami is not. It's funny how we are a train wreck yet always better than Miami.
The Jets are a train wreck the Dolphins don't have a train. They are irrelevant. No one cares about Miami not even the fans. They are all just waiting for Heat season to start.
Junc you dam good and well over the last several years we have been debating, I have been very harsh on the Dolphins organization. And nowhere have I ever said everything the Jets does is wrong. In fact, I give the Jets credit when I think they are due. Yeah we have knuckleheads who think that way but I'm not one. The point I was making is that your arguments allow for you to make assumptions but those you debate are held to a higher standard.
Golly, Super Bowl predictions, empty promises, locker room issues. You didn't have nearly any of these side distrations until Rex took over. I am sorry if the truth hurts.
sorry, I overreacted to your comment. I bashed Pace just like I am bashing Bush. I will not bash a HC who wants his D to play physical. at least we have been close to SBs, right? the only team since Rex started to have 2 chances to reach SBs, we failed both times but we had the opportunities which no other team has had. Rex brings attention, he has made us relevant both on and off the field.
Sigh, I know you finished in the top 4 2009-10 but you are a shell of that team now. Rex is very entertaining but like his dad, the act wears out after the boasts are meaningless. That brings out the negative side. I know you are old enough to remember Buddy and his time with the Eagles. Rex is following right along the same path.
we are still 2-1 this season, right? we missed the playoffs by a game last year. It's not like we are the '96 Jets. Buddy never won a playoff game w/ the Eagles.
We also didn't have many winning seasons or playoff victories. Since Rex has been here the Jets have been better than the Dolphins every year. Sorry if the truth hurts. I'd rather have a noisy winning team than a quiet loser every year.
What a jackass!!!! no one deserves an injury... and Landry clapped cause the D made a play, not because bush got injured
I don't ever wish injury on anyone (even someone who makes a jackass comment like this) but if Bush is right and "what goes around comes around" then maybe he'll have to deal with a season ending injury and then we'll see how he feels about it. Somehow I doubt he'll find it as funny when it is happening to him.
Can't debate the record but look at how they have played. Can you honestly say that a: This is as good a team as the 2010 Jets? b: Tebow contributes rather then hinders the offense? c. Sparano has your offense in sync? d. Your playoff chances are not effected by the loss of Revis? If you answer yes to any of these your being unrealistic. If your season nosedives, which I think it will, it's not just because you lost Revis. Your OC is horrible and is only going to hurt Sanchez further as the season progresses.
a: I don't know, the season just started. we were 2-1 in 2010 too. b: again, it's too early to tell c: again it's too early to tell d: obviously it hurts losing a great player like that, it makes the task more difficult but our season isn't over. We just have to win in different ways now, we'll see how it goes. I wouldn't bet we make the playoffs but I wouldn't bet we miss either, I'd like to see the team for at least a few weeks to see what adjustments they make. How can you say our OC is horrible? where is the evidence? he made our receivers drop all those passes? he made our QB miss receivers? Through 3 games our O is averaging 20 PPG which is pretty good w/ a new O missing Dustin Keller.
You of all people know to look at more then just the record. That's a cop out. They are not playing anywhere near what they were playing in 2010. As for your OC, did you happen to notice the glare he got from Sanchez, who was in the middle of executing a nice drive while in a good rhythm into the red zone only to be yanked for Tebow? Didn't Tebow scramble around trying to pass then get sacked, then the genius brings Sanchez back in but his rhythm is gone? That's not the only time. He brings Tebow in 1-2 down then expects Sanchez to convert 3d and long. It didn't work in Miami and it won't work there. You can't break a QBs rhythm and be successful.
They played awful the 1st weke in 2010 then played great for a half against NE and a veyr good game overall at Miami. This year we played great against Buf, terrible against Pitt and ok against Miami. 20PPG so far and the O hasn't really got in sync yet, I'm ok with it. I'm not saying we will be a playoff team, I'm saying it's still very much a possibility. To write us off now is silly.
The reason I write the Jets off is I see Sparano doing exactly what failed in Miami as well as the loss of Revis. We all know Revis is the best defensive player in the NFL and can be debated as being somewhere in the top 5 all time. You just don't replace that.
It's not going to be easy to replace revis but speaking of the start to 2010 we did beat NE and Miami w/o Revis. Long term it will be harder but I wouldn't write the season off yet. Sparano was never your OC
