It's the fact that he has his OFs playing so shallow with the game on the line, Upton has a fly ball hit over his head and then Gross. That's unacceptable.....
Boston just won the series. This was like Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Nobody cared about Game 7. No way the Mets blew it after that. Well, no way Boston blows it after this. This will be the Game 6 of the 1986 World Series type game. I mean, I guess there are two more games, but still. No way they can lose now.
I don't blame Howell either. The goats are Maddon and Gross. Wheeler and Balfour sucked, but it's Maddon's fault for leaving them in after it was obvious they didn't have it.
I'm not even a Rays fan and I need to smash something....... what a way to fuck up a great ALCS Joe Maddon.
Big Popout still pisses me off. He will be the death of me. I don't even know why I wear his jersey. On that note, I'm not going to wear it anymore this season. I didn't get a chance to shower and switch into "sport mode" after work. I'm just gonna sit on my couch in my skivvies eating lasagna and drinking beer until they win the series.
Yes the pitchers were a disgrace to pitchers everywhere but Upton and Gross absolutely can not allow a ball to be hit over their head. If Upton isn't so shallow the Sox don't tie it up.
There was a rumor that Beckett actually tore his oblique, but they denied it. If he can pitch well and take game 6, I think game 7 would be pretty hard for the Sox to lose. It all comes down to Beckett's health basically.
Yeah. This ranks #2 on the "most emotion I've felt watching a game without my team" list, the #1 being the SB last year. See the trend? Fuck that fucking city.
What about game 5 of the NLCS? The Astros came back from that. If Boston doesn't win the series everyone will forget about tonight, but if they do go onto win games 6 and 7 it will be made to sound like a foregone conclusion. They can loose very easily in game 6. If they find a way to get through that, then I like their chances in game 7.
Howell was good against everyone not in a Red Sox jersey. On the pitching note, what the fuck was Francona thinking? DelCarmen? 4 innings pitched, 7 runs allowed, 5 walks, with an ERA of just over 14. I understand the pen was taxed with Dice-K having a piece of shit performance, but honestly, DelCarmen?
The difference is there is a pattern of Boston doing this...... when they won game 4 in 04 nobody thought it meant anything. Cleveland had them on the ropes and somehow didn't finish them off.
How about Drew? Clutch in the playoffs, finally earning all that money, and not just some of it. I'm not gonna talk about Boston winning this series yet. There is still 2 games, and Beckett has been way off this off season. 100% it comes out after the season is over, that he has to have surgery and gutted out the playoffs.
