How a true baseball fans REFUSES to respect this Rays squad of 2008 is beyond me, it really is...What do they gotta do? Win the World Series? This team is the AL EAst champions...Played better than the Red Sox and Yankees...Had just as many key injuries...And Rays fans like myself know nothing about baseball?

I have seen so many losing seasons of baseball since I was an early teen from this franchise...I see a solid overall team when I see one...And I've seen one since we traded Delmon Young for Garza and Bartlett...The rotation was looking sexy...I just loved it.

Here we are...1st and 3rd, no outs...Red Sox ONLY walk away with one run...5-1 now...What a DP started by Evan Longoria with an on the money catch and throw by our superstar from Japan...

6 more outs...4 more runs needed for the Red Sux...GL against this bullpen...GL

    Cya after the game:beer:

Maybe he's just actually ran into a "Devil Rays" Team who is, as we all know...Young, Talented, Hungry and Aggressive on the road...Maybe thats what it is? Because last I checked...Lester wasn't hitting his wall the past couple of games...Was it a fluke? Or was it...Just like Beckett..This Rays team just plays to work the pitcher...And win the game.

Thats what I think it is.

Now it's the Rays turn... 1st and 3rd with no outs...Wow, solid play by the Red Sox to gun down Crawford...

1st and 2nd with only one out...Against Byrd...Who has been solid all year long.

Lets see if the Rays can answer and make this a 5 run game, once again.

And the pride of Rhode Island...Mr "Comeback player of the year" Rocco comes through clutch in October with a 3 run BOMB in the 8th!

    Smart man...

I wonder what that Red Sux fan is gonna cry about tonight? I wonder what garbage baseball excuse this prick will make next?

Is he confident in an ollder, washed up...Wakefield? The man with a losing record with an amazing offense in the Red Sox? That Wakefield against a pitcher in Sonnanstine who won in the double digits? With a winning record? That Sonnanstine vs Wakefield?

I bet he's loving that match up, well...because...Wakefield has "More experience"

How about a  for the Rays being up 3-1 heading intp game 5 in Boston...Is it possible?

You bet your ass it is

Wow, of the 8 posts on this page, this is the only one not blocked due to the ignore feature. It looks really strange.

On a side note, I think it's time to either sit Ortiz or at least move him down in the order. He just isn't the same guy.

EDIT: Now there are two not blocked. Still weird.

Dude, his stuff was fine. His fastball was touching 97... sitting at 94. His curveball had over 13" of break on it.

He was just getting hit. Hard.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to pretend to be an idiot who worships the small sample size of one or two postseason series... okay... here goes:

The more important question for Sox fans is where Big Papi's clutchiness went! 4/28? Yikes. He is sooooo unclutch. He must have lost the ability to perform under pressure.

I'm not home so I'm listening to the game on the radio. I assume you meant sitting at 94, and in that case, that's upsetting.

And it's not the playoffs, Ortiz hasn't hit the ball well at all since he came back from the DL.

Man, I just don't think you can sit a guy like Ortiz. You never know when he's going to explode. I agree though it's time to move him down.

I'd sit him. He's come out and said he's starting his swing before the pitch is thrown. You can't hit the ball hard if you're doing that.

Yes, that was supposed to be 94.

And I know Ortiz hasn't been quite the same hitter, but he still put up an OPS around .900 after coming back, which is above his season average (thanks to a putrid April).

    Man...This is an amazing feeling.

Rays with back to back wins against this Red Sox team without Manny, a Red Sox team with an Ortiz that has lost a step...Or two. A Red Sox team that just doesn't want it as much as these Rays

Yes. He finally could no longer deal with me.
    This is cool.

Rays already won. Next up are the Giants and Dodgers. If those other two win tonight, I will like it.

Meanwhile, onthetownhallroof will be distraught. You see, he's a Cowboys fan. A Giants win would hurt. Manny Ramirez getting a win would bug him, too.

The reason why you don't get much respect around here is that you only show up after Rays wins. Everyone else around here in the baseball forum have been breaking each others' balls and showing up each game win or lose. Each one has a wealth of baseball knowledge. Show up when your team loses, bring some baseball insight, and you'll earn respect around here.
