For someone with such amazing football knowledge as you seem to think you have, I am surprised you think that a player can justify an entire contract in one season. I think he did very well initially on a brand new team to justify the first year of his contract, but we already had a slew of talent on the roster and he is certainly not the one player that makes our team go. Will he be missed? Yes, he is a productive player. Is he irreplaceable? Absolutely not. And again, what is with your lack of reading comprehension? Show me a single post where someone said he wouldn't be missed. BTW, your predictions are about a valuable as a rubber dog turd.
Our Defense is going to be just fine, and you have no depth at LB. I'm going to say 1-3 with a win against the Texans
last time i checked there were 11 men on defense not just 1. pace is a great player but he is not our best defensive player. i believe in rex enough that he will be able to cover the fact that pace is not there for the 4 games. and as much as i dont like VG maybe, just maybe he can come through. and who knows what we have in that rutgers player. if he is as good as the coaches think he is maybe he is a gem and the next bart scott
I agree on most points. I think Pace is a very good player, and your defense will miss him. I disagree on his replacement, who do you have in mind? I don't see anyone worth mentioning. For 4 games there's going to be a gaping hole where Pace once lived.
Lets see here. 1) The guy in you avator sucks some major ass-4 tds and 90 catches in 2 years....Good pick 2) The Jets still own the Dolphins whether you like it or not. 3) You haven't won a playoff game since 2000 4) You won't win a playoff game with Chad behind center---see 2008 playoff game against good defense 4) Why the f-ck are you here again?
ya but you also were stupidly labelling gholston as a bust after 1 season, so that's why you have no clue.
what about signing brooks for a one year deal to replace pace for the 4 games. i no he is old and stuff but he cant be the worst option out there.
with an all new coaching staff and the qb's on the roster, i was expecting a slow start, especially with the schedule. i think a lot of posters are assuming a houston victory and thats a big maybe. they are a good team that beat a lot of good teams over the last couple of years. then i see someone assuming a victory over tenn because we supposedly have their number? they were unbeaten last year when we played them and were due for a let down. the jets were not the better team, ultimately in the end, just that one game at that particular time. don't see us winning that one either. then the other two, forget about it!! too much offense, we'll not hang. 1-3 and consuider our team lucky we don't go 0-4, could easily go that way also. the jets defense on paper looks great, but i seriously doubt we start out the season that way. i see a very slow start and hopefully a team that comes on strong towards the end of the year setting the stage for a big year, the following. imho
i agree with your assessment about houston, they are a really underrated team. as for tenn, they were possibly the worst playoff team in the league last year, besides miami, despite their record, and we absolutely destroyed them in every facet of the game. i would chalk that up as a win. saying they were due for a letdown is retarded.
Labeling Gholston a bust at this point makes me stupid? In your eyes or the eyes of the unbiased? I've spent enough time watching the game and following players to form an opinion, my opinion is that Gholston is hot garbage. I don't parade around here rubbing it in anyone's face, and I'm not claiming that I knew he was garbage from the start. I am however, saying that based on what I've seen and what I've read - he's garbage.
ummm, a lot of people were calling gohlston a bust after one season, so called experts included. when your the sixth overall selection in the draft and don't contribute to your team at all that whole season, they should be considered a bust until proven otherwise. gohlston has to prove himself, no if, ands, or buts about it... sixth overall selections have to be starters from the beginning, or your drafts are screwed......
I think we'll go 1-3, maybe 2-2 You're basing your opinion solely on the fact that he didn't start last year and your own bias against the Jets. He was hardly used at all in our defense so pretending your judgment of him is based on how he played on the field is ridiculous.
exactly, you made my point for me. we were not that much better than the titans that we should have destroyed them. shows it was a typical let down by a team that was due for a loss. as far as tenn being the worst playoff team, i believe you're saying that with your green glasses on. titans had the ravens beat the whole game, they just showed their youth and inexperience by not putting them away when they had a few chances to. i doubt you watched that playoff game, because i think most football fans on this forum that watch titans/ravens game would agree, the titans out played them most of the game...
i think you're deliberately being a dick. everybody knows qb's are an all together different story. what a qb has to learn, compared to a defensive player, is night and day. i knew when i responded with that post, some noodle would come back with the qb challenge. apples and oranges and most everybody here knows it, except you evidently. but you're the same guy that thinks tenn was the worst playoff team last year! doesn't say much for your football knowledge......
i do think they were the worst, aside from miami, as i stated. but some noodle said even though we outplayed the titans we were a worse team, than tried to use that same argument with the titans/ravens. hmmm? doesn't say too much for your football knowledge.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not entirely basing the argument on what I've seen - which was absolutely laughable at times. I remember watching him flounder around against the Broncos. Remember, the starting spot was his to lose, you don't draft Linebackers at #6 and sit them to learn the system - let that soak in. You don't draft a Linebacker at #6 to sit him. You don't even draft a Linebacker at #6 to be a situational pass rusher - which he couldn't do either. The man showed nothing, nothing in OTA's, nothing in training camp, and nothing during the course of the season. No flashes of brilliance, not even a spark of potential. I realize he's being talked up as the next Terrell Suggs and that has some of you guys excited, but until you see something, anything, remember last season. He's a bust until he proves otherwise.
