our offense put up 27 points. Sure, the offense had a few gaffes, but that's football. For once, our offense made some positive adjustments at half time....that's what good football teams do.
It's a dumb thing to say because both of our playoff losses (under the current regime) have come because of our defense. I'll give you the fact that we need to be more consistent offensively but, to this point, that hasn't really been a problem as far as the postseason goes.
WTF are you smoking? The offense was brilliant running the ball well and exploiting the play action well. We had 3 continious drives which ended up in the endzone. IIRC we only had two 3-and-outs, otherwise sustaining long drives whih ate lots of clock. Good game all around on O, D and ST = total domination.
The offense looked great, despite shooting themselves in the foot twice (Mulligan hold on Greene run, Sanchez RZ Int). That said, love having a defense than can keep you in ANY game.
Our O was good in the first half short of the 1 pick by Sanchez. Stupid mistakes kept points off the board but your crazy if you don't think our O completely outplayed their D in the 1st half. If Sanchez doesn't make that pick and Mulligan doesnt commit that holding penalty the 1st half would have felt very different.
The offense moved the ball consistently all day. Some individual dumb plays stopped them from putting up huge points. To say the offense sucked all day is just dumb.
True, but buffalo is good at creating turnovers despite giving up that much yardage. The Jets did what we needed to do by balancing the run and pass. Did you really want them to air it out instead of running down the clock when they have the lead? They played smart football by controlling the clock in the 4th quarter by preventing a come back from occurring. Sanchez threw for 230 yards which was good enough. Overall, the jets played smart in the 2nd half.
Am I the only one that thought that holding should have been called on Keller on Mark's INT? He got raped by 2 guys and was stumbling a bit when Mark threw the ball. Granted, Kerl would have been an easy PI to the right side, but that seemed like a bad no call.
I remember you posting that, and I was with you all the way. It was driving me crazy hearing so many people in the media pick the Bills. I never doubted for a minute that we'd go up there and win comfortably. Why? ... BECAUSE WE HAVE BETTER PLAYERS THAN THEY DO!! What the hell were all you so called experts thinking??
Apparently I'm smoking the same thing because I came away unimpressed with Sanchez. He is still throwing behind guys and let's not act like the offense wasn't handed 2 gifts right before the half and we ended up with no points out of. We didn't even gain a 1st down. They stalled and looked clueless following the huge return by McKnight and when they finally did get going it was because of the defense forcing a fumble and giving them field position even Schotty couldn't screw up. Yes they did a good job pounding the ball and Sanchez does run a great playaction but he still makes dumb mistakes and the holding call on him frustrated me to no end. Why is he even in the game at that point. The way our D played today against an explosive offense it sucks that our O but Pluvvr (or whatever the hell his name is) was 100% correct. If we want to win the SB and we will certainly get a chance to prove we belong next week the offense needs to not leave points on the field and not leave Nick Folk kicking 50 yarders for points. They need to be consistent and that's been a problem all season.
Barry hit the nail on the head. I agree completely our Defense was awesome. I think they won the game for us simply because they allowed us to hang around long enough to finally do something. I mean, come on, we didn't score a TD until the 3rd Quarter against a team that is ranked #24 against the pass? And, no I don't think we should have aired it out all day, my point was simply that OTHER teams have and have come away with a lot of points against Buffalo. So being able to gain the yardage if we had a GOOD offense shouldn't have looked as excruciatingly difficult as it did. I do think there were some positive things in the offense. I think they helped seal the victory with the points they were finally able to put up. But like Barry said, we can't win a SB with silly mistakes and penalties. Sure, we can make it to the playoffs and maybe the AFC Championship again with a great defense. But I want to win the AFC and win the SB. I don't just want to make a decent run in the playoffs. I don't know the answer for what needs to be fixed on offense. I'm not a football guru. As an average joe watching the game the offense looked bad for quite a bit of it against a porous passing defense. I can guarantee Rex Ryan doesn't think the offense did a great job and needs improvement as well.
The offense needs to not kill their great drives. They had the second longest drive in the nfl this season and got 0 points out of it. On the whole the offense was moving the ball fine all day. They shot themselves in the foot twice on should be scoring drives. The last 2 minutes of the half was a clusterfuck by both teams.
Could really bring Pats fans back to reality if they lose back to back to back games for the first time in well... since Brady I think ?
This thread isn't about a critique of our team. It's an opportunity to share in the joy of telling Bills fans to shut the fuck up. Have a nice trip to Dallas . . . And Miami . . . And then we'll see you again in our house! We kicked your ass. Our D owned your front running ass offense. Go cry to your mommies and eat some chicken wings. Gotta say watching the game, I was really impressed how how fucking fat and ugly your fans are. Makes Cleveland look like South Beach.
Good win. Our O was better, our D was better, our ST was better. Some garbage yards at the end for dem
Having Rex as our coach I don't see how we can justify calling fans "fat" and mean it derogatory. Rex has elevated my opinion of fat people TBH.
