Carr would be a good stopgap option. He'll be much cheaper to acquire than Jimmy G. What's awful to think about is that we've now wasted a 2nd and 3rd overall in the last 5 years on two busts. And, that because of how good our defense is, we aren't going to be picking that high to draft another this year, but maybe that's for the best.
The Jets cannot develop young QB's. It's just not something we do well and we haven't for a long time. Better to go find a vet and let him manage games for us. Once you have that established then you can draft a QB with no pressure to put him on the field until he's good to go. Get him in the late 1st after a successful season or early 2nd after a bad one depending on how things go.
Still to addcited to follow closely, yet at a safer distance... no agita... take th elong view dontg watch til they are competent enough to do so... someone pretty savvy was convinced :Sam was "it"...and againts my better judgement i watxched his 1stm 2 seasons.... agita... now? no watching ... waiting until they porove they are good enough to watch
i odnt know the player but i like fporward thinking that is bent to SOLUTIONS... while most SOJ fans just whine and bitch
The Jets could be end up like KC of a few seasons ago with Alex Smith. That team was loaded with talent and they brought in Alex Smith, who was a mediocre talent, to be their QB. The team was a playoff team with Smith and then they found Mahomes....
Lets trade Wilson to the Niners for Trey Lance. They originally tried to trade up for him. Maybe they still want him lol
The way Zach sailed a few of those throws yesterday, I'd say there was more than a pinch of Pixie Dust on them.
Right but Winston is the guy you could see winning games in December and January. One of the problems with all the systems the Jets try to import is that they blow chunks in bad weather. Parcells had it right when he installed the Erhardt-Perkins here and got a strong-armed guy to trigger it.
yeah but the problem with these mid round picks is we end up with the Bryce Petty or James Morgan types and not the Russell Wilson or Dak Prescott types
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers pay Garoppolo to stay. Are they really going to bet everything on a guy who hasn't played football in three years?
So the Jets aren't worth watching.. but they're worth coming here to comment on them 2,700+ times? Makes perfect sense...
I don't know him personally but I remember an article from a few years back dissecting how fractured the locker room at the Raiders was around 2018/19 and from memory Carr was a big part of it. Can't find the article now (think it was an si.com or Athletic article) but I definitely remember some of it revolving around Carr as I sent it to my cousin who had bought a Carr jersey just before he snapped his ankle in 2016.
I don't see that - if you are a first round QB you aren't going to be thinking "I better not go to the Jets because if I am terrible they may get rid of me after two years" - if anyone has that mindset they are already doomed I agree Minshew is an intrguing possibility
