    Agreed.

In his own defense though, Kay does a lot of other work, including for YES. Not that I care, since he's a schmuck, regardless of the work he's doing, but I'm sure that plays into him getting time off from games.

Personally, I'd rather they just went with O'Neil, Cone, and Singleton (or better yet someone new). I used to be really anti-Singleton, but he's turned it around a bit this year, so I'm okay with him staying.

Kay and Flaherty are just terrible to listen to.

I thought for sure that was a big hit coming. Nice job by Melky to track it down.

Andy's stuff is really good tonight. Can this team hit Kazmir though?

Man, I know people hate seeing Molina in the lineup, but I really adore the guy.

those first 2 innings were painful to watch. Kazmir just pwned our 1-6

Why not try a squeeze with Gardner in this spot?

That would have been a really sad inning if it wasn't for Jeter.

    Yeah, really.

I still have lower confidence in Jeter than in years past, but lately, he's been getting the bat on the ball better. I'm glad he came up big in that situation.

That's right, test the arm with the best player in baseball on deck.

    Dumb.

Great play by Upton. Can't take anything away from the defense on that play.

Upton has a good arm. I thought it was odd that they sent him on such a shallow base hit...

Wow, it's going to be exciting in center tonight I guess. Why doesn't Gardner play center?

Personally, I'd rather a guy ends an inning sliding into home than standing on third.

Plus, with Kazmir on the mound, you have no idea how many chances you're going to get. Take the risk, especially when you have the lead.

I guess Girardi would rather have Melky there.

Guess so. Doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm no fan of Gardner's arm, nor his affinity for trying to reach 3rd without a cutoff, but he can probably cover the ground better than Melky.

    BTW: Andy is awesome.

my thoughts exactly. Im not too against having Melky in center and Gardner in left. Its Melky leading off that really bothers me. Gardner is so much faster and is a patient contact hitter. Melky blows goats. How does Girardi not see that...
