From this one interview the media is running with this? I don't think he is "leaning" towards any place.

If we can somehow afford him, that would be great.

I was just thinking, if Ray does come here, does everyone think the Harris will gladly give up his number to Lewis?

I've studied your avatar closer than I'd like to and have decided that the hands look manly. What's your take?

Judging by reoffending rates that seems a reasonable assumption!

I'm not saying Lewis is a criminal - and even if he did step over the line he's been out of trouble for a long time.

barton needs to be kept, if we upgrade at ILB we need a quality backup. cody spencer and whoever the fuck else they had certainly wont get anything done.

Ray Lewis will 'lean' toward the team that offers the most money. And this isn't that team.

Lewis has at times been a major whiner and crybaby while playing for Baltimore. He is 34 years old. He won't give Baltimore any extra consideration when it comes to where he signs. He isn't even on the Jets and he's already telling them what players should be on the roster?

    No thanks.

I gotta agree with Keeper1125 here. Although I think Barton is a goner. Its so tempting to get Ray Ray's crazy in a Jets uniform...seeing him come out of the tunnel doing that goofy ass dance of his. Plus Woody is probably drooling thinking about selling Lewis jerseys.

However his advancing years is a concern. Within the next few seasons I see him becoming more of a blitz only type of player. Not an every down guy. Certainly not a coverage guy. But then again what the hell do I know?

Plus he's gonna want big $$. If we paid Pace 42M... I'd much rather take a shot a Bart.

Why do people keep saying Lewis is not a "coverage guy".....In the past 3 seasons he's had 25 passes defended...and 7 INT's. That's better than Pace, Barton, Harris and Thomas.

No matter what you think of him, Rayray would be a huge upgrade over any of our linebackers right now, possibly with the exception of Harris 'cause of the age thing.

I don't know what we're planning on doing about Barton, but I really want to see him back next season.. more so than Cactus Thomas and maybe even Pace. Barton is a great player who plays with enthusiasm. Coverage is a weakness for him, but if we had ANYbody who could cover besides Revis and Rhodes I think we'd be seeing him in a completely different light. He is a beast and an excellent guy to have in rotation.

Coverage would not be as big of a factor as it has been because the Jets would be blitzing more, which closes the window on a QBs time to throw.... so the need for the LBs to cover lessens, Unlike Mangini's pussy defense.
