Take note of this: Torn rotator cuff, playoff game Chad throws a bomb that hits Santana Moss in stride 55 yds down the field for a TD. We all have our good and bad throws man. A guy like Moss (when he was playing the way we remember) can adjust on the ball and get the TD. Culpepper is an awful QB who just lobbed it up, usually underthrown, and Moss came down with it all the time. Unfortunately, that Randy Moss is DONE... so I'll pass.
I wouldn't say he's done. Clearly he hasn't looked as good, but I really think that's because of the situation in Oakland and not Moss' skills. However, I really don't think we need him here.
the thing is, it seems like the bad throws (on deep patterns) are beginning to outnumber the good ones; the WR's have gotten open deep plenty of times in which Chad either hasn't hit them or hasn't even tried. the Santana Moss example being used repeatedly, when we talk about Chad throwing a deep pass to a WR, should say something. cheers
If the Jets got Moss then someone either Coles or Cotch would not get enough balls thrown their way and someone will be unhappy this also would show the jets lack of confidence in wr's if they went after Moss when already Coles and Cotch had great seasons.
I'd agree as of late, the deep throws have not been as good.. He never was good throwing near the sideline deep.
yeah. so, to me, that's reason enough to avoid Randy Moss. but even if Chad could get him the ball deep, i'm pretty sure Mangini wouldn't want him. cheers
He is 30. It is not like he is 40. Coles is also 30. Way too old. Chad Johnson is 29, retire already!
No, No, No!!! As talented as the 2 are they are a locker room 'nightmare' NO. Enough with the T.O. and Randy Moss madness.
I like the possibility of landing a tall reciever, but still the dollar amount that a washed up randy moss would garner would not be worth it. I could just see Chad on the side lines and Randy chasing him up and down the field going" Im open Chad"
If the CS intention is to have CP start this upcoming season again then I really doubt they will bring in a speed burner like a Moss that they know CP cannot reach. I am sure they also would not want to embrass CP by showcasing his weakness of not being able to throw a bullet 40/50 yds DF
I think the coaching staff will start the best QB on the roster, be it Chad or Clemmens. I don't think the staff is worried about whether Chad is embarrased or not. However, they will call plays that work to his strengths, not his weaknesses. If Chad's weak arm becomes too much of of a impediment to the offense, he won't be playing. Either way, Moss doesn't appear to be the type of player from a character standpoint that management would add to the roster.
