Thanks for finally explaining why this is the BEST scenario for the Jets. Everyone is so in ga-ga love with Vince Young, they can't see that taking Ferguson or trading down is the way to go.

FYI, the way I read the potential Ramsey deal was 4th or 5th this year OR potential conditional pick no higher than a 3rd rd next.

Backup. Ramsey is intereption prone and they always come at key points in games. I have watched every game he has played in. Great backup cause of his toughness, bad starter.

More or less painfull than watching Chad throw ducks? All Im saying is it's great to get a backup this cheap.

I am sure this wil change in the new era but we as a football team do not recover from tunrovers, we do not need someone in their who will turn the ball over. Chad when healthy was great at not turning the ball over. Look at his red zone numbers, l33t :breakdance:

The Falcons have the 15th overall pick in the draft and the source said there's "no way" Atlanta will trade that pick for Abraham.

    well that part sucked....

but as for ramsey...for a 5th flat out period...sure...MAYBE a 4th...if they threw in some late draft picks

Come on, it was not always like that and you know it.

I hear your point, for a backup sure, but what if Chad is not up to par and this dude steps in then we are surely head for another rough season. I think with a healthy Chad <crosses fingers> we will be a lot better than people think, Chad knows how to win games <period>.

I'll do it for a 5th rd pic....i also think a change of scenery would do him good....they never had a good oline in washington (not saying ours is better) but his #'s was with Steve Spurrier and his wonderful play calling and block technic's....i say pull the trigger unless we can prob get McCown or Kitna....Much rather see McCown but o'well you never know how this might work out...Imagine VY falls too the 4th pic....now were talking some trade bait....Very exicted about this year.....:finssuck:

The reason I don't think Ramsey is a good signing is because I'm not so sure he isn't any better than BB.

how can you say he is garbage????

look at Steve Young and Vinny in Tampa -- who woul dhave thought they would be to pro-bowl QBs when they moved on -- drew brees sucked for 3 years, rich gannon was a perennial under achiever before the raiders picked him up -- put ramsey in the right system with the right coaching staff and he could be a very nice addition.

I think we make this deal and draft cutler. We then have cutler, chad and ramsey. Either ramsey of chad starts next year. In 2007 cutler starts, ramsey backup and chad isnt on the team. We draft another qb on day 2 of the 2007 draft. We can trade down and take cutler later with ramsey as the insurance if some takes cutler

Doesn't matter, as long as the eggshell doesnt get cracked Ramsey doesnt see the field.

I love this signing. We are getting a former 1st rounder for a 5th. How can anyone say this was stupid?

What I like best about it is surely this means we are NOT taking a QB in the 1st round. Let another team get suckered into taking Cutler or Young. I'd rather have DL, OL, RB much worse than QB.

If Young is sitting there @ 4...i think you have to take him...even if we get ramsey....we can always trade one of them....i'm not sold on cutler at all reminds me when Robertson was in the combine and all the hype ("the next warren sapp") crap. I say grab ramsey and draft guys for the system....would like to see Vernon Davis in green and white...

All I am saying is that he has not shown that so called potential everyone seems to think he has. I just would rather a stronger backup plan than Patrick Ramsey if Chad can't be our Qb.

Instead of getting Ramsey, shouldn't we trade up for the Trojan? Hi-Yoooo!

I would prefer Kitna but I would definately take Ramesy for a 5th. McCown is my 3rd choice and if we signed Rosenfal I would have a breakdown, he is awful and would be our next incarnation of Lucas. I would not give anything more than a 4th for him though, if the bidding war heats up we can leave him alone
