Papi is a piece of shit for opening his mouth after the A-Rod leak. I'm glad his name was released. And, no, this does not "taint" the Red Sox victories. Our players were on 'roids too when the Sox somehow managed to fuckn' win 4 god damn straight games. UGH.
That's the same thing I was thinking. What is he really supposed to say? "Well, we knew he was doing it, but what're ya gonn'do?" Does anyone really think Torre didn't know wtf was going on in the Yankees' clubhouse?
If they are going to release the list anyway they may as well release the list for the sake of those who were under the agreement just so that they aren't singled out like this. And steroids is in so many things that until they say what the player tested positive for, this isn't even news. If you are going to kill me then just kill me not force me to bleed until I bleed to death
Holy shit dude you're on the list? Meh I like bleeding slowly. There will be false moral outrage each time, and by the time we get to the 10th name everyone will be sick of it and realize that this shit is just another era in baseball.
Good to see that the Boston Globe rips them to shreds better than any of us could ever hope to do in today's articles. Pretty much says everything Boston accomplished with them is a sham and completely tainted. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/
" And lucky, too, perhaps that the "Mitchell" in the Mitchell Report is none other than Sen. George Mitchell, a native New Englander, a lifelong Red Sox fan and, most curiously, listed as "director" on the Red Sox masthead. That's not to suggest that Mitchell, whose integrity has seldom been called into doubt, was somehow derelict in his duty and purposefully overlooked transgressions by Red Sox players and personnel. But his association with the Red Sox seemed, at minimum, a conflict of interest and one more case of perception becoming reality. " http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9874414/After-drug-report,-it's-innocence-lost-in-Boston- There needs to be another Mitchell report. This one on Mitchell himself and what he knew and when he knew it. Can't wait now for Pedro's name to leak. He too is from the DR and probably involved with the same guy that everybody else from the DR has been involved with before he was banned from baseball.
What is he going to say? We knew all along and were hiding it from everyone? They all know there are plenty more Sox who used just like Joe Torre and co. know there are many more Yanks that used. I don't think this news taints Boston's titles, PED use has been running wild for 15-20 years now and those that think the game is now clean b/c of testing are kidding themselves.
Don, You do realize that Mitchell got all his information from Kirk Radomski, Brain McNamee and Balco right? He did very little "investigating" on his own. Unless any Sox got his junk from those 3, they wouldnt be mentioned.
I really want to hear what he has to say in the coming days. Obviously the burden of proof is on him to convince us he has not been shooting up behind the scenes for years. His statements right after the story broke don't leave much room for wiggle room if it comes out that he tested positive again other times. I'm not holding out much hope, but he hung himself even more if he pulls and A-Rod whenever he has the press conference. I thought what Arroyo had to say was pretty interesting too: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hvauZY5Glg20V0HHe_tcPZofkGIwD99POKJ81
I'll say this, it wasn't the brightest thing to say, but I respect Arroyo a lot for what he's said the past couple days. Honesty is always the best policy. You're already a cheater, you may as well not add liar to your image.
Went from nothing? 2001 18 HR in 303 AB 1 HR per 16.833 AB 2002 20 HR in 412 AB 1 HR per 20.6 AB Signed with Boston 2003 31 HR in 448 AB 1 HR per 14.451 AB 2004 41 HR in 582 AB 1 HR per 14.195 AB 2005 47 HR in 601 AB 1 HR per 12.787 AB 2006 54 HR in 558 AB 1 HR per 10.333 AB 2007 35 HR in 549 AB 1 HR. per 15.685 AB Only real breakout year was '06 the rest could be contributed to the superior Red Sox line-up vs. Minny's. Did he take drugs, most likely but don't say he came from nothing when he did have decent years in a sub-par line-up.
I am absolutely shocked by this news. I really thought Ortiz went from a complete nobody in Minnesota to complete stud with Boston just by magic. Shocking news..
Why shouldn't I say it? Everybody says it. He was useless fodder in Minnesota and became a superstar in Boston.
