He had 1,110 rushing yards and 3.8 ypc this past season.

I wasn't even specifically referring to LdT when I said big name RBs often fall off the map. The main example was Shaun Alexander, his "MVP", and his subsequent terrible performance and injuries after he was given a gigantic contract.

I'll give you Alexander, but he got his contract, big pay-day at 29?

Peterson is 23. So probably he'll be 25 when he gets his monster contract. Asmomugha got his at 27, great value considering he'll get another big deal at age 30.

Peterson at 25 will still have about 4 good years left, history shows, and that will be enough value for me to give him a big deal over Asomugha, despite his bruising style.

Shaun Alexander got paid at 28. Edgerrin James got paid at 27. LDT got paid at 25.

And the argument was Peterson/Asmomugha. AP is only 23. So in 2 years I'd be more than happy to give him a 6 year deal over Asomugha.

If I can get 4 productive years out of those 6, I'd be happy.

he does turn 24 in a few weeks.

So he'd be signing at 26.

And I'd still give the contract to Peterson. You're going to get 3 productive years probably...Which is all that Asomugha signed for...So if you want to go further on it...I'd rather give AP a 3-year mega contract than Asomugha.
