This is true. Give me a polished route runner over a physical freak. Of course I’ll take both but if we have to choose .....
That is why you need to have the same system for a few years as opposed to switching every year. It takes time to gel.
Guess you forgot the fact that last year he became the 2nd youngest QB to ever start an NFL game and still younger than just about every rookie QB last year because you're harping all over mistakes from a young QB who's been under pressure more than any other QB this year and behind a crap O-Line? lol not even a future H.O.F great in L. Bell can dominate behind this O-Line (as he did with Steelers). It's called perspective. Last year he ended the final 4-5 weeks with the NFL's highest QB Rating and his last 3 games have been even better than that imo.
It's possible Darnold wasn't 100% in those games, mono has lingering effects even after your spleen goes back to normal.
No. Darnold was youngest to ever start an NFL season (week 1) but the 2nd youngest to ever start a game as I believe someone in the 70s was younger when started a gm...
No it wasn't. This OL has many holes and still does. I said 6-10 and 8-8 at best. Fans that thought this was a playoff team were setting themselves up for a disappointment. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
This. Stay balanced. Everyone has flipped the script on this team and is completely positive on Gase forgetting what we saw before this stretch. I'm happy to see the positive steps but we have a long way to go.
Yeah the Jets have had a horrendous year fortune wise. If not for 1) just for whatever reason literally not having a kicker on the roster for week1 which is just ridiculous. 2) Darnold's sickness 3) Mosley and Avery getting injured/their seasons ruined before the first game is even over 4) the offensive line chaos which didn't stabilize until 3 weeks ago. Weak unit at best but inexplicably unprepared for the start of the year. The line imho still not acceptable for really succeeding but 3 (arguably 4) of the 5 opening day starters were absolute catastrophe's that have been purged one way or another and things have at least gotten all the way back to merely below average. You flip those 4 things around and I wouldn't be surprised if this team was in the playoff hunt right now. Could easily be 7-4 or at worst 6-5 Whatever... shit luck for 2019.
Shoulda been 5 straight weeks with an opening drive touchdown if it wasn’t for the bitch ass refs. They made up for it though.
See this is where I have a pretty strong opinion that all of this can be traced directly to the offensive line. Gase and Darnold aren't any smarter, quicker, better looking, or more organized than they were during the first 5 or 6 games. What IS radically different is that the offensive line has stabilized. And whalla… things are working better. When defenders just blow past Winters and arrive at Darnold's jugular at the same time as the snap but with more momentum then I'm sorry.... it doesn't matter what play was called and how brilliant it might of been. I really think its pretty much that simple.
